I could definitely feel a difference on my '07 4.6L-2V STX with the 87 Octane setting using Shell gas. It actually does better with the factory modded fresh air intake over the AFE Intake. I haven't tried the 91 Performance setting since I've gone back to the factory modded air intake.

A lot of people will recommend a custom tune over a canned tune. You need to decide which is best for your needs and read the thread on programmers.

Good luck, James

If you plan to run an aftermarket intake on a 5.4L-3V engine you will need to run a custom tune to ensure you are not running lean. You might want to start with the Gott's Mod, a Magnaflow y-pipe, a Magnaflow muffler and a exhaust tip.

Save a little money while you research a programmer that fits your needs and budget and then make the purchase.

Superchips does have additional tunes to accomindate the use of the more popular cold air intakes.....

I have one for my o6 screw 5.4. Not so sure its worth the money, but it does make a difference on the 87 octane setting. Cant seem to keep out of the gas. I dont have any mods other than KN drop in filter, and Im not running 91 octane fuel.

My 87 tune pulls harder above 3K than the 91 tune but the 91 tune pulls harder from idle to 3K.

Thumbs up

2008fx4white .... I have the Flashpaq 1865 on my '07 FX4 with 5.4 (with low restr intake and SI/DO low restr exhaust) and I'm plumb tickled with it. Cost me $350 in February and the change was immediate.

That's right.

(note .... my mileage figures are country roads and highway driving, I hardly ever use the interstate as we prefer the old road with less traffic usually when we go out.)
