Alright so I plan on buying an Edge Evolution programmer but wondering if I need a CAI first.

Thanks.

NO. Get your tuner first. On the 04 you will want a custom tune for a CAI if you chose to get one later. 04 are notorious for lean conditions caused by CAIs.

No and in fact unless you get custom tunes (which is a good idea) you should NOT get an aftermarket (warmer-air-than-stock under-the-hood-bling) intake.

Thanks.
Edge does not support aftermarket Wasuhoobi's. They even state as much, if asked.

Look elsewhere - recommendations in my sig.

If you want it NOW - choose VMP.

Alas, I am but a humble scribe. The real kudos need to go to Sir Shotgunz's inspirational genius

It will only be a matter of time before Wa-shoobi's for Sale begin appearing in the Classifieds !

Hi bud.

Yes it does, actually.

The Heritage models use a MAF that looks like this:

Non-Heritage models use a MAF that looks like this:

The first houses the actual MAF in it's own controlled venturi environment. This is largely impervious to intake nods (within reason).

The second relies upon the aftermarket Wa-shoobi's implementation of where the slot-style MAF will reside - and it's almost always suboptimal and requires correction for the resultant MAF TF skew.
