New Edge..New problems

07 f150 5.4 4x4 crew
Set LVL 2
WOT fuel 1.3
WOT shift +5,+5,+4.
WOT firmness +12,+12,+9.
TC +2,+3,+5.
Pressure +5
3.54 gears 285/65-18 tires 2600 value.

I had no idea where to start and collected these #'s from past posts, Coming to a corner to stop the engine don't want to idle down, Likes to stay about 1200 RPM's and seems to keep pulling untill stopped for about 5-7 seconds. Should I just set it back to default and run it or am I way out of adjustment? Truck is a DD with towing duty 6000LB trailor twice a month.

Thanks
Tim

Try adjusting the bold values.

Please don't take this as a put-down, because it's not! However, the "canned" settings on the Edge are pretty damned good without any input from you. I'm going to be a bit more "aggressive" than 88 (it's ok, he's a friend) and tell you to set it all back to "default" and run with that for a while until your figure out what you really want to change.

Then, when you DO change something, make sure you know what you're changing it for. For instance, upping the TC values like you did keeps the engine running at a higher RPM longer in normal driving, giving you access to more torque sooner if you need it, but, do you really? It also uses more gas - is that what you want?

The numbers you posted for WOT shift don't make sense to me. They SHOULD be RPM values like 5,000, 5,000 and 4,000. That last number should probably be around 4400-4600.

And finally, I'd leave the WOT fuel alone - period! Changing it seems to cause no end of grief.

Thanks. Like I say, I found these values from other posts. I'll set it back to default but the darn thing shifts like a stock 73 lincoln, Just kind of eases into the next gear with what seems like hours of lag.

It used to be so much easier to open up a C6 and physically make it do what I wanted it to do.
