@ 1clean42 I also understood that you can still get the Gryphons for for 97-03. I still support PHP, and will be purchasing two programmers from them in the next month.

Just wanted to update this info. Bill and I spoke over the weekend and have decided that we will continue to custom tune EXISTING 97-03 Gryphon programmers even after July 9th. The reason? We decided that it was a part of supporting our existing 97-03 customers and helping them retain the value of their programmers in the even that they want to sell them. Everyone should keep in mind, however, that the existing warranty does NOT convey. It's always been that way, though, so it's nothing new.

Feel free to contact us with any questions!

Just to clarify, as I'm a little confused on the issue, the CS/CTS 97-03 programmers are not included in this are they? Like you will still be selling the CS/CTS 97-03 programmer and offering support, upgrades, custom tunes, etc. correct?

From what i got out of all this mess they are dropping or have dropped the edge evolution for 97-03 guys. The CS/CTS will still be able to get upgraded. Also if you have a gryphon already they will continue to support them.

Correct. The OBDII cable on the older Edge for 97-03 trucks is simply too unreliable. They do not want to have people stranded somewhere out in the boonies, using a product that they sell. They feel it's not fair to their customers.

They continue to support those that upgraded before this though and will perform the upgrade on any unit that was received by July 9.

The CS/CTS does not have this problem and can be upgraded with custom tunes for any truck between 97-08. And, very soon now, 09-10 trucks will be supported too, when Edge releases their units for these trucks.

Sounds like a wise decision to me. Why sell a product that is unreliable.

I see where you're coming from Coy, but you have to understand that they are making this decision because they want the customers to have something they can rely on.

...and as for the Dell comparison, they are still supporting the current evolutions the same as you say you still support the "faulty" Dells. They are just saying they are not going to be selling new ones, as in they are discontinuing a glitchy product so to speak. You're not telling me you would willingly sell a customer a dell computer that you, yourself know has issues?

Just my .02 cents on the issue, don't take my post offensively Coy, I don't mean any disrespect.

Its cool what i was trying to say during all this and i dont guess anyone really understood what i was trying to say or just wanted to flame me because i was disagreeing with PHP was that i would'nt turn down a customer that had a faulty computer that they brought to me. I didnt say that i would sell them a known faulty computer to them, or i if i did say that i didnt mean it like it. What i was argueing with was Corey was saying it was taking to much time out of there work week messing with the 97-03 cable issue. Yall have a good day.

The CS/CTS for the 97-03 is a totally different animal. We're selling them left and right (now, if only Edge could get -- and keep! -- them in stock!).
