No - you're correct and when I re-read yoour post, we're saying the same thing.

I'm pretty sure Edge is still selling the Evos, along with the CS/CTS.

PHP no longer sells the Evos and they won't convert them to Gryphons.

They also sell the CS/CTS.

The edge CS+CTS are the EXACT same as the Gryphon CS+CTS.
If you buy the unit and custom tunes at the same time from PHP that's where you'll save the money.
With these no more sending in the unit.

Edge evos are not being converted for the 97-03+04h due to cable issues.

That's what I thought - so if legoretta bought an Edge CS or CTS, he can get that converted later to a Gryphon, right?

I would think he would be better off buying it as a Gryphon to begin with.

Like I stated before if you buy it and the custom tunes from PHP at the same time you get a price break on the custom tunes.
But if you buy it from any where else the price of the custom tunes goes up.

So if you just want one to use the edge tunes buy it anywhere.
And if you're not happy then get the custom tunes from PHP.

But if you know you want the programmer and custom tunes buy it from PHP as a package.

I thought I read somewhere that the Gryphon canned tunes were better than the Edge CS/CTS canned tunes due to California emission regulations. Is this true?

This might be a deal breaker for me.....
can the cs or the cst store the tunes on the truck and then be disconnected or do you have to leave the connected at all times?
My office is not in the best part of town and i work after hours quite often, I do not want to have to remove the programmer everyday.
Thanks
MIke

No worries sir.

Any flash programmer can be disconnected once the tunes are loaded into the PCM.

If you are contemplating this perhaps you should get a device without monitor functions (SCT Xcal3)

Otherwise you will be underutilizing a CS/CTS device's capabilities as a monitor if you plan on keeping it safe a majority of the time.

Other advantage - you can get the SCT with Custom Tunes NOW. And from VMP, very quickly!

Also - less expensive. Just something to consider.

The original Gryphon canned tunes are better than the ones found in the CS+CTS+EVO, Bill has tweeked them.

Now with the CS+CTS platform weather its edge or PHP Bill cannot touch that firmware, only edge can make adjustments, Bill can only write custom tunes, that's it, they're the same..........

Hey everyone. I had a 2007 with a Custom Tuned Gryphon. I have since sold that truck and purchased a 2010. Is there any possibility of getting canned tunes for my 2010 on the gryphon and then purchase custom ones to be used later??
