Whoops,I did it again.

Yep.Searching Ebay while drinking beer to the point where rationalizing overcomes reason. As a result I now own a brand new Edge Programmer.
Driving a basic no frills 2007 150 work truck with a 4.6.I did do the Gotts
mod but don't intend to do any further mods.
Well, its a pretty cool toy for sure.I have it programed In the trans only #1 mode and it certainly seems to shorten the chain of command between the pedal and the wheels.
Presently I have no need to tow anything,In fact I don't even have a hitch.
I'm wondering how the tow mode works out for non towing application. Thanks,Ron

The tow tune is a pretty good daily driving tune. It's what I used before I got custom tunes when I bought a used Edge.

Tow tune should hold the tranny in gear longer ( higher revs) before shifting while shortening the shift time. It should also reduce the timing advance allowing the use of lower octane gasoline.

I got mine 2 days ago and have been running it in towing. I've gotten at least a 4 mpg increase and can tell the response is a lot sharper.

Tow tune will help with the lower end torque.

I have a gryphon which is a rebadged edge from PHP. Since I am waiting for my custom tunes I run on level 2 towing and love it. All aspects of performance are improved by a large margin. Though it is called a tow tune it does not mean its onoy for towing, it can be used for daily driving.

I too have been running in the "tow tune" even though I"m never towing anything.Runs good.I will probably upgrade to a Gryphon with a custom tune eventually but at the present as they say "I'm so broke I can't pay attention"
Any you wise guys tried to tweak the tow tune with the custom options to better suit non towing performance? Thanks,Ron
