Edge Vs Gryphon - which is better??

Im sure there is another 5 threads that answer my same question, but Im tired of searching, Lets hear opinions on whats better and why (no promo BS, just the truth from the people who know what they are talking about), I will most likely be making my decision between the two based on peoples answers, much help is appreciated. Thanks

The Gryphon is better. Why? Custom tunes.

If your wondering about the original Gryphon vs the Edge then, the Gryphon's canned tunes have been tweeked by Bill at PHP.
Not to mention also it can have custom tunes on it.
Now if you're wondering about the Gryphon CS/CTS vs Edge's versions, then nothings really different except you contact PHP to get custom tunes.

Which is better, the Ranger or the F150? That is sort of how it is. I ran the Edge for 31,000 miles and was happy with it other than the lack of downshifting at certain speeds. I finally got an 87 Performance and a 93 Performance tune from PHP. I have had these tunes about 45,000. The 87 Perf has about the same power as the Level 3 performance tune on the Edge and the downshifting is fantastic. I would hate to go back to canned tunes.

Gryphon offers you flexibility. You can just run canned tunes or when ready to kickit up a notch or you add CAI, turbo, cat back ect you have that ability with the Gryphon via custom tunes. With the edge you have no ability to adjust for that stuff.
I have the Gryphon and it does all thatit says it will.
Now if you are the type that has no interest in adding performance upgrades the edge will do just fine and it will offer nice gains over stock programming.

Its just the gryphon programmer 04-08, not the cs or cts, I can't find where to download the right thing.

So you're looking for the Pegasus software right?

If so, http://dygytalworld.ehost-services13.../_support.html

You need to download Pegasus from PHP's support page here: http://www.phptune.com/_support.html The second drop down list is the one you want. Also, download the Pegasus User Guide that's shown in the same list. Follow the installation instructions there carefully!

DO NOT use Fusion on this device!

I doubt though, that you need to update anything with Pegasus. Just install it on your truck and load one of the tunes, (Level 1 or Level 2 if you're using 87 octane gas). I think Level 2 makes a good all around driving tune.

Well I just ordered a gryphon from a member here. I was going to get the evolution or gryphon which ever I could find used at a good price. Feeling pretty happy right now.
