What is some of the HP gains everybody see's from Troyer performance tunes?

As you can see it varies widely - and keep in mid 3V results will always be better than 2V results. To get power out of 2V with just a tune, you need to run premium fuel & tuning to match.

You can go back even farther than I did to pull posts related to pre-04 trucks.

You guys need to get a room. OP, there's more to a tune than just horsepower. There are a lot of compromises in a stock tune, and if there were no HP gains at all, it would still be worth it.

 

I have a heavy built 5.4 2V so i'm hoping for some great numbers.

 

With a built motor, you're going to need custom tuning regardless. What have you done to "build" it?

 

I have a appt with them coming up soon. He is going to dyno it and everything. The entire motor has been rebuilt. Bored, everything is forged, ported and polished heads, bigger injectors, coils, intake.

 

I can't comment because I didn't have a stock truck tuned

That's good to know. I will keep everybody posted once i get it tuned this coming week. Hopefully try to post a video of it on the dyno.

 

The only hp gain in all that stuff is ported heads, i hope after all the $$$ on the rebuild you got different cams.

did you do different piston to raise the compression?..how much?

to me the tune will simply tie it all together and make the computer happy.
yes you will see a gain but at this point it will be hard to say how much is the tune and how much are the upgraded parts
