No, I actually would not let it "lie" like this. I would call Edge and tell them you cannot monitor the Inst MPG using your CTS. Let them know that another member of this forum with a 98 truck could monitor this PID using the older Evolution model. (Please don't confuse them with "Gryphons"). Tell them you really want this "feature".

They may have you connect your CTS to Fusion to download all of its stored programming (which will take quite a while) and then Fusion will upload it to Edge's server. It's about 5 Mb worth of files, so, it takes a bit of time to do, especially the part where the files are downloaded from your CTS to the PC. You WILL NOT have to return your vehicle to "stock" to do this, so it's pretty painless.

This is a new platform. Edge has made some decisions in its programming that may not be what we, their customers want. We owe it to ourselves and to them to do what we can to make this device satisfy our needs.

I'm actually registering a reading for instant MPG, but they are WAY off. I haven't seen it read any better than like 4 MPG for some reason. Any clue why this may be occurring? I am only on my 2nd tank of gas with the CS installed, but not sure if that would have any effect or not..

This is really beginning to sound like an issue between the CS/CTS platforms and the older (pre-04) model year trucks. I think Edge Tech Support needs to be made aware of this problem, so call them.

I contacted edge about the problem and the emailed me back within 3 days or so. They said that the first thing that I needed to do was update the programmer. They said that they could see that I plugged it into my laptop and attempted to update, but for some reason the update wasn't successful. I know that I tried checking for updates a couple of times, and at least one of the times I thought that it stated that no new updates were available. I've been meaning to try to update it again, but just haven't had the time.

IF you have established a "Fusion account", then Edge can tell if you have downloaded any firmware updates they've put on their server for you. But, you have to have the Fusion account which knows your unit's Serial Number (I think) for all this to work.

Well, I finally got a round to updating my CS. Unfortunately it didn't fix the instant MPH issue..
