IIRC, the Edge has "four" levels (I didn't check the manual - going from early morning memory):

0) Stock
1) Tranny only
2) Towing
3) 91+ performance
Both have similar tunes.
But in the gryphon Bill has tweeked levels 2+3 and nothing is done with level 1 (canned tranny only) basically the same as edge.

I have been thinking about and researching programmers for a number of years now. The Gryphon sale is too good to pass up so I pulled the trigger and placed my order. Cant wait to get it next week.

Yeah, a newer model year truck

Just kidding, but it is only getting discontinued for 97-03, correct? I think their website said something about it still being available for 04+ trucks.

Are all lines getting discontinued for 97-03? CS and CTS? Maybe it's just the case that they are seeing so fewer earlier models that it just isn't profitable when the market may be more on NBS and up trucks? Just a presumption...

Just to clarify... Edge is still offering the Evo for the 97-03s; we're just going to stop carrying it. (We'll continue to support it, too!) What most people don't know is that we by the components and assemble our own Gryphons -- the circuit board is a chameleon that we can make into an F-150 programmer or a diesel programmer. The 97-03s and 7.3Ls require a special OBDII cable which considerably more expensive than the one for the other trucks, and for the number of 97-03 and 7.3L PSD programmers we sell, it makes business sense to discontinue carrying those two.

BTW, the CS and CTS (which we carry) both cover the 97-03 F-150! If a customer chooses to use the suction cup mount (think: GPS), the unit is only lightly more expensive than the regular Gryphon.

We received parts for 25 Gryphons on Friday. I currently only have FOUR left in stock, and that was as of Tuesday. I'm expecting an order of CSs and CTSs tomorrow, and I believe most of those are accounted for with pending orders. Looks like I will be placing another order with Edge next week, so the lead time, unfortunately, will probably be about a week and a half. We just didn't expect so many orders, or we would have ordered more product with our last Edge order!

Please answer this, as I would like to know also.

I am really leaning against getting a gryphon because of all the complaints about everything taking so long! and the lack of customer service!

PHP has very good customer service the problem they have is that they are a very small company (run by 2 people from what i know) and they have a massive customer base, like well over 1000 people all over the western hemi-sphere, making them very busy.

i too am still wondering if they are going to still offer 97-03 gryphon upgrades.

Please know that this is purely a business decision and has nothing to do with last year's cable issue.
