Edge evolution CTS- no economy mode:(

Have a 2007, 5.4. Edge product is evolution cts. There are only 3 performance levels. 1. Trani mode 2. towing mode 3. performance.

So does the trani mode do the same as the economy mode for other vehicles or only helps in better shifting

The tranny mode only firms up the shifts. That's it.

The Level 2 - 87 Tow tune works reasonably well as an economy tune and that's what a lot of people use. The Level 1 - Trans Only file is shifting only and doesn't help economy at all.

Excellent to know, I bought an Edge yesterday and figured Trans mode was the economy version...good thing I popped on here or I'd be digging in my wallet next week

When I bought my Edge (that is now a Gryphon), I used the Level 2 tune as a "daily driver" tune. I gained power, improved shifting and improved gas mileage.

I had the same question but it says in the handout which levels do what. I leave mine on towing and I get about 18 highway. I hardly ever use super, only when racing friends.

For the same price as the edge, just get a gryphon and call Bill and Corey. Until the 15th, it is basically the same price. They have a crazy good special running right now. My gryphon CS comes in today!

I always thought the economy tune was in your foot.

FWIW I have PHP custom tuning for my Edge Evo (87 and 93 performance tunes) and I average over 18 MPG.

What would be the best programmer/tune for economic gains? I have an 08 F150 Limited. I'm averaging around 14.5-15 mpg now. Thanks in advance

Undisputed, this question has been asked over and over and really, there's simply NO answer. Any of the programmers we talk about on this forum will probably give you similar results and the tunes provided by the tuners we talk about will do likewise.

Probably, the main difference between an "economy" and a "performance" tune is where the shift points occur during stop and go driving. Some people will not like the mild engine "lug" this will cause under light acceleration. If you're on the highway, this shifting consideration has little effect, so a "performance" tune is probably the one that's going to give you best economy.

The big three are
Sct X3
Edge/Gryphon
Diablosport

they will all change the same parameters. Read the sticky at the top of the forum for a basic tutorial.
