Hello again Renegade!

Oh-ho! This is the CTS, right?

Here I was looking at the EF2400 product! D'oh ... silly old me, lol!

I now see your issues - in this revision of the manual - which appears very generic (unlike the previous-gen model literature), no such detail exists.

Here' what' in the EF2400 doc:

"Timing Adjustment
This timing option helps determine the final ignition timing based on
intended fuel octane rating. Modifying your timing may help improve fuel
economy as well as overall performance. However, choosing timing advance
that is too high might cause detonation (pinging), which may cause serious
harm to your engine. Lowering this value will not harm the engine but may
reduce performance and economy.
(Hint a good general rule is to increase timing .5 counts for every octane count you go up, i.e. if you are
running 93 octane fuel in level three you could safely increase the timing 1.5 counts
).

WOT Fuel
The WOT Fuel option adjusts the amount of additional fuel during Wide
Open (full) Throttle. A value of 1.5 increases the fuel by 50%. A value of 1.8
increases the fuel by 80%. Using a higher value may improve performance
during hard acceleration. This value only affects WOT fueling and has no
effect on normal driving conditions.
(Hint: Raising this value may help improve 0-60 and quarter mile times.)"

I don't see equivalent entry points in the Custom Settings area for this. Very strange. In fact very little is mentioned about octane in general and there is also a ton of Diesel stuff in the same doc, even though it's supposed to be for Gas vehicles!?!

Here's the CTS manual:

http://www.edgeproducts.com/product_...manual-346.pdf

I would ask you to contact Edge Support to see what's up. Perhaps it's a doc revision thing - or a more detailed Ford Gas Specific doc set is available - product just too new, perhaps?

Very sorry - my eyes are shot, lol!

Good luck!

Sounds like a typical, "new hardware, to hell with documentation" issue doesn't it? Too bad documentation is not sexy.

Good evening Jack;

Yes sir, it surely sounds like it.

I find it difficult to believe they would have omitted some of the previous Gen product's most useful features. This is one of the consequences of time-to-market pressure. I recall SCTs first-gen X2's and Livewires having significant growing pains.

Docs, lol! I do slog through more than my share of documentation creation ....that no one reads

G'nite .

Not only is there little literature in how to do some fine tuning in doing a custom perfomance, but the new edge evolution cts does not even have some of the basic programing that the older version had for the same 2004-2008 f 150 gas vehicles. Ex. no economy level in the new evo, missing some of the preferd gauges (approx 5-8 of them) especially your average MPG. Im almost wishing I purchased the old evo version.

I agree on the economy mode, my 2001 f150 does not have that option as well, or the avg MPG.
