can dealer find out you had your truck chiped?
I know man... I chuckle everytime I see his posts. Def a good time
If you're smart about it and turn the truck to stock before heading to the dealer, the average tech won't be able to tell that the truck has been tuned. If they dig deep enough, they can see that the truck has been run close to 100% load (assuming you've gunned it), but that's about it.
I have no first hand knowledge of this but have been told or read that Ford has a diagnostic program it provides to dealers that can see any modification to the PCM and it reads it like a "black box". Before Ford will approve any major warranty work, they request this info off the PCM. Again, it may not exist, but certainly does not seem too farfetched at all.

As I understand, with a reflash back to stock before the visit, they will see a low ign cycle count and that is all.
As I understand it, since the stock program or tune was put back exactly as removed, it shows no changes.
If wrong, please correct.

I think that would be correct under normal maintenance, but if the software I mentioned above does infact exist and you are there with a blown motor or transmission, they would be able to see that undocumented activity had taken place in the PCM.

So, the P1000 code (or whatever it is)... will it show up on a scan through our tuners or a ScanGaugeII so that we can delete it? Or, is it the type of code we should drive the truck for 50 miles after returning our trucks to stock and the truck automatically removes it?
