I have a hunch. unplug the battery for 15 minutes. Then reprogram it. See what happens. I had issues as well, a bit different but the truck runs sooo much better after I did that. Made a massive difference.

My Pioneer AVH-P4200DVD should be sitting on my doorstep when I get home tonight so I'll disconnect from battery while I'm installing that. If that doesn't help, I'll post over in the PHP Forum again. I know Level 2 is a "tow" tune, but when I'm running Level 2, my truck responds like I really am towing a huge boat or trailer! Kinda odd. Flash it back to stock and it's like I have unleashed all this power that was being held back.

By putting it back to stock you are reseting the pcm and putting it into a relearn mode.
That's why it seems to be full of pep.

I understand that, but why would canned Level 2 be consistently worse than stock performance wise?

Loading a tune causes the relearning of the pcm also.
Or
It could be something not interacting right with the hex calibration code.
That canned tune interacts with a lot of hex calibrations tables.

That seems odd

When I go from my 87 tow tune to stock tune there's a noticeable decrease in performance, and in the past week I've changed back and forth a few times.

Yesterday I connected my Gryphon to Pegasus to my surprise there was a Firmware update and Calibration updates. I flashed my PCM back to stock and then updated the firmware and canned calibration tunes to the latest version. I then flashed my PCM back to Level 2 and it seems to be running much better now. Idle is lower, shifting is a lot smoother now and the truck is shifting to second gear now occurs at 2100PRM and not 2900 -3000RPM.

Well, that's awesome! At least you can use the tow tune until you get your custome tunes..
