Good evening, sir!

No trash talk from me - I do not stoop to those levels. However, someone else may be along to oblige you

Really - there are a couple threads on here discussing this device. Generally, for about the same cost you can get a custom-tuned handheld that will spank this canned tuner. Even the best canned devices contain genericized tunes. As such, they are necessarily a compromise. True custom tuning has no such constraints, and has the potential to deliver superior results.

However, everyone's needs are different - you may only need a little extra power, reduction in throttle lag, and a few minor adjustments - for this, a canned device like the Cortex, or Edge, or Flashpaq, etc (assuming all proper updates are applied) may suffice. A lot go that route & are happy.

Did you already purchase one? If so, can you return it?

I hope I was able to assist even a smidgen. If you have any further questions, or advice on the great advanced search features available on this board, please do not hesitate to ask!

Good luck!

Cheers & bests

Hello again, sir. Okay - understood.

I noted you said 'build'. Depending upon what, specifically, this entails, custom may be yer only, or safest, or most satisfying solution....

Case in point - CAI's, long-tubes, boost, cams, etc ...

Good morning to you, sir!

Sorry .. I fell asleep last nite, lol! Dang, gettin' old sucketh! My bad !

On to your question..

The three top custom tuners most often discussed on this site are:

Troyer Performance - www.troyerperformance.com - Mike Troyer

VMP Tuning - www.vmptuning.com - Justin Starkey

Powerhungry Performance (PHP) - www.gopowerhungry.com - Bill & Corey Cohron (and 'that's the facts' Jack, lol!)

All three have stellar reputations. All three use SCT's custom tuning products (www.sctflash.com). Additionally, PHP also uses a re-engineered Edge - called a Gryphon.

My humble advice is to try and contact each tuner directly if you can, and speak with them about your specific needs. They will talk yer ear off, mind you! Especially Mike! All are busy, so please be patient some.

I chose TP and have been very happy. Folks do tend to gravitate to their individual favourites.

Good luck to you, sir!

Cheers & bests!

Waste Of Money

For the price of any SuperChips junk, you can buy a custom tuned programmer from a good company.
