I just bought a PHP gryphon for my 05 ford f150 5.4L and it came with a grey dash pod and i need black. If i were to buy the pod from edge do they come black because the pic shows a grey one but doesn't tell you the color. Also will a Gryphon fit in an edge pod??

 

It's the same pod no matter who you get it from, so yes, a Gryphon will fit in an edge pod. The new style pods are all the "flint grey" color, which matches my dash perfectly. I guess there are a few newer 150's around with different dash colors? I know there are a few that are "tan" and now you say yours is black??

The pod takes paint VERY well. If you need black, I'd just use Krylon Fusion black spray paint (which is made specifically for plastics). Shouldn't need any serious "prepping" other than just wiping down with isopropyl alchohol to remove any oils and dirt.

No my FX4 dash is the black and grey also, i just like the black pod, i have had the edge tuners in the past with the black pods. Thanks for the help

Just make sure you are trading within the same years of trucks.
04-08 are different than the 97-03+04 heritage.

 

I also have a black one I would be very willing to trade. Not helping me to much as my interior is light grey/dark grey. From what I have read its amazingly hard to get paint to match the dash, and I don't have any local automotive stores that could mix paint for me.
