I just wanted to update everyone interested that Superchips now supports the 2009 F150 with the 4.6L and 5.4L 3V engines.

Here is some power data on what the product delivers:

5.4L F-150 tested:
91 Performance file produced +38 RWHP and +57 RWTQ.
87 Performance file produced +18 RWHP and +43 RWTQ
Tow file produced +12 RWHP and +37 RWTQ

4.6L F-150 tested:
91 performance file produced +10 RWHP and +19 RWTQ.
87 Performance file produced +2 RWHP and +4 RWTQ
Tow file produced +3 RWHP and +5 RWTQ

Current options :
- 91 Performance, 87 Performance, Tow, and Save tuning options are available
- Shift point and Shift firmness adjustments
- Speedometer recalibrations available for tire size upgrades between 28" to 38"
and gear changes from 3:08 to 5.13 ratios.
- Speed limiter adjustability
- Rev limiter adjustability: 5.4L From 5500(stock) to 6000rpm's. 4.6L: from 6250 (stock) to 6500rpm's.
- Read and clear trouble codes
- Monitor and record driving & vehicle performance with advanced data logging with real time vehicle sensor display.

Let me know if I can answer any questions.

Scott

At this point the tuning will not compensate for the addition of a CAI but the good news is now that the 09 apps are finished we are ready to start working on specific CAI files for the F-series gas applications so that you will be able to run a CAI without issues in the near future.

As I receive more info on this option I will be sure to post the data.

can you put the same graphs up but with the afr? That tell us where the power jump on the 5.4 is coming from as most stock tunes run real rich.

Wow, according to those dyno results the stock tuned 4.6L 3V makes more HP and just 1 lb/ft less torque than the stock tuned 5.4L! Can that really be right?

That's nice and all for the 5.4, but that's awful for the 4.6. I know the 3 valve 4.6 hasn't been out long for the F150, but it's been out since 05 on the Mustangs. I'm sure your company can put a little bit more effort into it.

Ok, I just reread the charts and retract that statement. Seems the little 4.6 is giving the 5.4 a run for it's money.

Specifics on the AFR is something we prefer to keep confidential for competitive reasons but I will say that we are reducing the fuel ratio's to a more precise alignment with the air to minimize waste.

And that is fine. I have done custom tuning on my own cars and have used different products to do it. From what I have seen the factory tunes are almost always rich for safety reasons. And most tuning devices/programs lean it out to give a dual benefit...power and mpg. But some products go too far with the leaning out and cause drivability and longevity issues. I have not used your tuning products so I don't know your usual setups which is why I asked.
