anybody try this with their edge?

I have a stock edge evo on a 04 4.6L F150
I am going up to a bigger truck.
An 05 F250 or F350 with the 3 valve 5.4 engine{just have'nt decided yet down to 2 trucks}.
Anybody tried the evo from the 04-08 4.6L-5.4L F150 in the above truck?
I see edge does'nt produce a evolution unit for the gas F250 or 350,looking for any adventurers findings.
thx RB

If it does't say it supported, then it's...NOT supported.

It's based on PCM strategy codes. Model-dependent.

Best thing to do:

1. Start truck.
2. Set parking brake.
3. Get out.
4. Place Edge exactly 6 inches behind left rear tire.
5. Get back in cab.
6. Release parking brake.
7. Engage Reverse.
8. Back up exactly 12 inches.
9. Support no longer an issue. Done.

Glad you took that the right way

You can try to contact Bill @ PHP. I have not checked - and perhaps one of the nice Gryphon folk can enlighten us - but if your Edge was converted to a Gryphon, possibly custom tunes for the vehicle(s) you are referring to could be supplied ....

.... so, don't follow my procedure above just yet

Right, so I would NOT employ MGDfan's helpful advice just yet. But, are you SURE you want to get a bigger truck with a gas engine? I think I'd be looking seriously at a diesel if I were you.

I will third that! our nbs f-250 with 3 valve 5.4 at work is kind of a dog.... if your goin to a 250 or 350 i would highly recommend a diesel! pretty sure my next pickup will be a 150 with 6.2(if they ever put em in a regular 150), or a 250 diesel.

Yep, it is designed for both. The question for the OP though is whether are not the HEX for a 250 will be included by Edge. The strategy for the transmission, engine, etc will be different and will have it's own set of HEX codes. May not be programmed in the Edge. I doubt they are.

Probably would help if I was to read the question twice before I post once.

Thanks Jim.
