Xcal2, livelink and windows7. help!

I think the title says it all, upgraded my moms laptop (only one I have access to) to windows 7 via wipe and install fresh.

Now all I ever see from the pos is it failed to open device... I installed drivers, I plugged it in every which way and set the com port to 7 (particular usb port). I need help, I'm severely frustrated with this $400 paper weight, I need to datalog.

I had a similar issue with my X3 and XP..but after I updated the livelink S/W it worked. I'd give SCT a call..they may not have invested the time/$ to make the X2 work with Win7.

I'll be honest, I'll throw a complete tizzy if they tell me they expect me to throw another couple hundred at tuners lol.

I tried v3 and 4.3, 4.3 says it works with XC2 and vista (most vista works on 7, most). I sent an e-mail. will see if they get to me tomorrow.

"XP Mode" is not the same as compatibility mode.

Roger, thanks I'll try XP mode after I try turning UAC off on windoze 7. Apparently SCT says it can cause problems, but I did not see a disclaimer right away, so maybe. just maybe.
