Will a php tune help?

I have an 05 with an S&B intake, cat-back exhaust and edge tuner. I usually run the edge on level 2 with wot fuel set at 1.5. I noticed that my truck is a dog off the line in level 2 and goes nowhere until the rpms get up around 3k. I am wondering if the level 2 tune adds a lot of fuel down low for towing torque, thus making it sluggish off the line? I want to be able to run 87 and have snappy off the line throttle response. Will a php tune help?

PHP offers a custom 87 performance tune.
Your edge would need to upgraded to a Gryphon then a custom tune installed.

The Gryphon canned tow tune slightly improved the off the line feel on my truck. Something else may be attributing to the sluggishness.

I don't have my custom tunes yet, but I noticed exactly what your describing on the level 2 on the Gryphon. Couldn't tell much difference until around 3000rpm's then it really got going. I filled up with 89. Same price as 87 where I live. Level 2 towing running 89. I bumped timing up 1.00 and wide open fuel 1.3. This made a night and day difference in the take off out of the hole.

Someone will chime in and answer your question about PHP tune, just figured I might mention something else you could try,

Thats good to know. thanks for the tip. This is actually my dads truck and I drive a titan and the throttle response in my truck is night and day better, without a tune. I'm just trying to get a little better off the line response for my dads truck.

Can anyone that had the edge on level 2 and then went custom tune on the gryphon tell me if its worth the cost and hassle?

It was no hassle at all. I gained about 0.5 mpg with the custom tune, which, at the time saved me about $47.00 on a trip we took right after that towing our trailer (gas was VERY expensive right then). So, the tune almost paid for itself in that one trip (about 2400 miles).

And, I thought the truck performed better too.

I never liked the canned level 2 in the Edge, always ran level 3. After about 31,000 miles got the custom 87 Performance tune and love it.

Also, not only are you not getting much benefit from the CAI with the canned tune, you do risk running lean on an 05 5.4.
