edge problems
I bought an edge from a guy on the forum and i've had some difficulties with it. It really did a number on my tranny. I took the edge out about a month ago and now my tranny shifts hard from first to second. With the edge in my truck i would have rough idle only sometimes. I called the edge company and he told me not to do a custom tune. So i did and the same problems were still occuring. Not sure what to do now, should i get rid of it? Has anyone else ever had the same problem?
I'm having a terrible time understanding your post, other than the fact that you don't like the way your transmission shifts.
As I understand it, now that you've taken the Edge out (I suppose this could mean you returned the PCM to stock?) And, now you don't like the stock shifts? What makes you think the Edge has anything to do with this, since it hasn't tuned your vehicle?
And then, with the Edge installed, you only sometimes had a rough idle? Were you hoping to have this all the time? If that wasn't your goal, have you looked at the throttle body? Is it possibly dirty?
And then, Edge Tech Support told you not to do a custom tune but you did it anyway? Why?
And now, since the Edge is not in your truck, you want to know if you should get rid of it? Well, if it's of no use to you - sure!
Sorry, but you're going to have to be just a wee bit more clear with your problems and questions.
And just so you'll know, I doubt seriously the Edge did any damage to your truck. It's possible you did though. Were you trying to establish 1/4 mile records after you installed it?

sorry for the unclear message, the whole rough idle thing is that it seems like it is running on four cylinders. And it would only do it sometime, then 5 minutes later it would idle fine. and I wasnt trying make it do that.
I ran the truck on custom tunes only because i was told that you could do that. When all the problems were happening i called tech support and he told me not to do a custom tune, so i returned the pcm back to stock.
I pretty sure it was the edge that did that because my truck was running fine, shifting fine, when i installed the edge problems started

When you say "custom tune", do you mean the canned tunes that come loaded on the Evolution? Since you have an Evolution, you don't have any custom tunes.
If you haven't done it yet, you might try updating the Evolution with Edge's Fusion software (you can download it from Edge's website) and reloading either the transmission only or towing tunes. When you program your truck back to stock, the Evolution reloads the stock PCM "tune", so anything the Evolution changed when you loaded a different tune would be changed back. I agree with Jack's point that the Evo probably didn't do any direct damage to your truck, but that something else could have been impacted when the Evo was connected.

1.) not sure if this is the problem but unplugging the evo doesnt put the truck back to stock. The only way to do this is to actually reflash to stock.
2.) Mine runs better since I did the update on their fusion software.
