Xcal 2, unlocking question

I am selling my xcal 2, just trying to verify that it is completely unlocked and ready to go. I returned my truck to stock through the xcal. Is there anything else I need to do? Just want to make sure that I'm doing everything correctly for the buyer.

thanks,

Kevin

I think you've done everything. One question though. Is this programmer one of those that remains "married" to your vehicle after a certain number of "unlocking" sessions (5, I think)? If so, how many are on it?

I think so. I bought it new, and it says there are 4 unlocks left. I also unlocked it through the live load software just to be sure. Thanks!

Here's a quote from Mike Troyer:

It doesn't matter that you want to use it on one vehicle at a time, you cannot do that with a custom tuner - it is locked to the first vehicle and stays that way, even if you uninstall it.

As far as I know, the device will need to be returned to SCT to be unlocked. You may want to ask Justin if he has done your tuning.

No, if you return the vehicle to stock and it indicates stock, it can be unlocked in Live Load or Advantage. Here's a link to SCT's tech page on that topic.

Yes, the fact that there are 4 unlocks left tell me it can be used on other vehicles. I was confusing returning to "stock" with actually putting it on another vehicle which changes the number of "unlocks". Sorry! :o

But, unless the custom tunes have been removed (and they may well have been removed, since you said you returned it to stock through Troyer, it won't work on a different vehicle.

But, if the tunes it has in it now are canned, and not custom tunes, it should work fine.
