Gryphon/Edge/VMP
Sorry guys, I am new to this tuner stuff. I am thinking of getting one for the wifes 05 Expy 5.4 EB, Which one would be the best. Remeber, ITS FOR THE WIFE's EXPY so it cannot be confusing or anything like that. We will be travelling alot, my daughter and her husband moved out to Bandera and its about 4 1/2 hour trip. I think I need to get better milage (performance would be nice to)

I disagree. The Edge is good if you're stock and want to have a towing tune. The Level 3 is good but lacking in downshifting quality. Iwould go with the Gryphon if I wanted the gauges, the VMP tuning if the gauges are not important. The custom tunes just shift so much better.

We bought our Expy last July so that Bill could play with the tuning and be able to offer it to our customers. I could tell EVERY time he reverted back to stock and complained to him because the shifting from first through third gears was miserable. I remember telling him it was like driving through mud and I thought I could push it faster myself! He finally got the calibrations worked out, and right now, I am getting about 16mpg with the A/C on (even in the back). Without the A/C, I get about 17+. Last year when we drove from Atlanta to Orlando, we averaged between 19 & 20, I think. Just my . Hope it helps! (I don't think Edge offers an Evo for the Expedition...)

It is. You can enter the program and never touch it again. I haven't touched mine in about 20,000 miles. Some people like to experiment and play with the tuner.

I use my gauges constantly as I drive, plus in one corner is the digital speedometer. The steering wheel blocks my view of the truck speedo. If one doesn't want the Gryphon monitor, you can unplug it and remove it as well.
