Goto "Other Powertrain" in this forum there is a lot of good information there. Read through some of the threads to get an idea of what you want.

 

Randy's ring and pinion !!! They sell Precision Gears and have great prices. I have personally used them and they are excellent to deal with.

 

Thanks for info on randys rack and pinion, i just ordered the rear gears for now, i will order the front in a month or so. For what else would be good to change my gears?? i ordered the 4.56

 

For the front gear's, you're going to need a reverse cut 8.8 ring and pinion. I would wait and have them done at the same time. All you need is to accidentally shift it into 4WD, and you'll grenade the transfer case.

 

Or some else borrows the truck and they grenade it for you!

 

Well, DUH! :o So that's what reverse cut means! (You can tell I've never re-geared a vehicle in my fairly long life).

I totally agree with 88 and 4.6: DO NOT put new gears into the rear unless you re-gear the front too!
