This is why I'm looking for third party info such as this forum. In fact your input is what i'm after! Particularly someone with bad first hand experience....which I've yet to hear!

I'm wondering if it would be frowned upon if I'd purchase the unit then get tunes elsewhere.......what do you guy's think?
That is an option, but where would the savings be? By the time you pay for tunes elsewhere, it would cost more than if you bought a tuner at one place and found the best price on the S&B.

If they are an honest shop, they will give you some idea as to how many Ford trucks they have tuned.

That's great that you have that as a priority. Not sure that swamp country is it though! My son and his wife live there. Other than the hurricanes, it's not too bad.

My family will always come first ... I'd love to buy another GT500 but I just can't because of the cost. Where do you think I should move to if I want my son to grow up in a great area?

That's really a tough call, these days. Abilene was a great place for my kids, but don't know that it is all that great any more. My daughter and son in law had their 4 in Sugar Land, but recently moved out in the country about 18 miles South. It was a fantastic move for them. The kids love it and the change in them in just a short time is amazing. They are home schooled, so that made it easier.

You buy from Troyer, VMP, or PHP, you buy with confidence as they are proven by many of us. That's it, plain and simple.

We know nothing about them on this site because from what I see they don't come around here, however I found them on a competitors Ford website forum after buying my new Expediditoin I searched Google for Expy forums and found 5star came highly recommended from the folks at that website particularly with other Expy owners who had purchased this tuner from him.

Hah swamp country. I lived in Vidor for about 18 years growing up, but that place has grown significantly since Ive moved away(my mom lives there and I visit often). I know from my experience in the golden triangle area, I LOVED it, but the parentals could never locate me haha cause I was always out muddin/paintballing/hunting/fishing/etc. Thats probably why I love it here so much in Florida(just happy I was able to pick orders to this area). I'd say if you get a little ways into the sticks, its the PERFECT area for a kid to grow up.

Anyways, Id say call em anyways after you get as many point of views from the forums, and ask them in person how their experience is with ALL fords, dont pinpoint that you specifically have a F-150 till he already says the #'s, etc.

Thats what I'd do atleast. Also the S&B intake is a great buy for an intake, reduced my IAT by a minimum of 20 degree's. Quite substantial.

I See you've got an S&B!

How do you like it? I'm most likely going to combine it with the S&B also.

I love my intake for the price I got it, cant beat it in my opinion. Its got that great sound a CAI has, and reduced my temp for my IAT significantly, all in all, great purchase. Also was very easy to put on which is a plus.
