$50 for new hardware is a good deal. Take it. You can always upgrade to a Gryphon with the new hardware.
I don't know if PHP will offer the new hardware when you upgrade to a Gryphon? You could ask. I was going to ask PHP when I upgraded my hardware, but PHP was on vacation that week, so I just sent it to Edge. I paid $150 for my hardware upgrade after I purchased a unit on eBay that did not work on my truck.
