Banks Exhaust and Edge Evo...Problem?

Well I got the Single Banks Monster Exhaust for my 08 5.4 supercrew and I installed it on Thursday night and then I test drove it last night and it seemed to run really good. I also installed an AEM dryflow filter and I have an Edge Evo on the 2nd level. Today when I was heading back to school the truck seemed to run a little weird at certain times. When I was cruising through a town doing about 35-40 I let off to slow down to about 25mph and then accelerated back up to about 35 and held it there throughout town and it seemed to kind of miss a little bit for a second and then it went away.?.? So I kept doing the similar thing and it did it most of the time but it would also seem to run a little rough or miss at other times that I don't remember.

So I got back to school and returned the truck to the stock tune and then drove it around town and out on the interstate to see if it helped and it seemed to have gotten rid of the stumble that I mentioned above and didn't do anything funny except when I would put it to the floor and it would lag like they do and kind of stumble for a second until it would take off but I think that is because of the sudden WOT position and the lag that is known in these trucks.

So my question is that are these exhausts meant to be able to run with the stock setup without any change or I don't know for sure what to do or think? I am probably going to get my Edge converted to a gryphon which might solve the problem but I can't believe that the stock setup wouldn't substitute for the exhaust because I removed the positive and negative battery cables like Banks said to reset the computer so it can learn the airflow but I am just confused as to what is going on or if anybody else is having the same problem? I hope I didn't leave anything out!

I was also going to mention that I live in Iowa and it was below 10 degrees all day long but didn't know if that has anything to do with it but I think that is affecting the gas mileage!

doesn't level 3 require the use of premium fuel?

Hey bankrpt, did you disconnect the battery and do a certain procedure so that it could re-learn the air/fuel mixture?

then either:
a- the timing was bumped down ,or
b-the timing on level 3 is not too aggressive, any decent tuned for 93 tune will defintely ping on 87...

Hey mxguy, where at in Iowa do you live and does the truck run fine with just the Exhaust on or do you have intake mods done to?

I was told that you can run the 93 performance tune on 87 but it won't have the top end performance that you would gain from running 93 octane is what I was told...

It doesn't add up, does it, Phil? I know I tried advancing the timing by no more than 0.5 points, running 87 octane, and it made my idle unstable, so I dropped it back to the original setting. I know I'd never consider running 87 octane fuel on level 3. (And, by the way, level 3 is for 91+ octane gas, not 93 - so it wouldn't be quite as bad as an octane grade difference of 6).

Give the pcm time to learn.let it cycle 3or4 times key on key off put some miles on it dont do anything crazy like play with the timing.

You might want to go with a custom tune, at least you will have some flexability in adjusting it to your vehicle.

I live in Denver, just north of Waterloo, I have the banks monster exhuast a K&N drop in and the edge for performance mods. I tried to get mine to hesitate and couldn't really notice anything, the one thing I have noticed is that it seems to idle pretty low and the tack bounces a little bit, but nothing I can feel with it running?
