problem with edge programmer.please help!!

Hey guys sorry its been long since i have been on here been real busy with school and work , but i have a problem with my edge programmer:

So the display screen has not been coming up.. i called edge and they insisted on me updating the software. The little i know of the problems its been having i agreed. I went throught the update.
he also said that if the display screen was not coming on that it might be that i need a new battery. (that was odd) but he said it needed some voltage for it to display the screen when i started my truck.
any way so this morning i went to start my truck.. it had a little hesitant on starting but started and i drove to work... display still not showing nor the light was on. but the engine light was on and the wrench light (electronic throttle control)
...so after work on my way home, i tried to drive but when i got up to like 30-40mph it had a hesitation on the throttle then my truck shut off and i had little steering i pulled to the side of the highway where i called edge again. he explained that it might be the battery or the alternator.

i had my boyfriend bring me a battery after putting the battery in. the display stayed on but still had the engine light and the electronic throttle light stay on. i drove home and now the hesitation is at 60mph. I get home and put the truck in park i rev the engine when it reaches 1200 rpm all the power goes away and the truck stutters and wants to die.

If anyone knows what is going on please help!
these codes keep popping up as well on the programmer:
P2106-throttle actuator control system-forced limited power
P060- is unknown.

It definately sounds like a voltage issue ....i have a very complex custom stereo system and i have had plenty of experience in chasing voltage issues...usually when the battery or alternator goes bad it takes the other one out too so if you only replace the battery it doesnt fix the problem ....check both!!!...and possibly replace both....then check main fuses and connections that are exposed to possiblle corrision. If a certain voltage isnt met it causes problems elswhere ...voltage spikes or lack of voltage....hope this helps!!!...good luck

It was the battery. Had you changed the battery when you first noticed the Edge not coming on, you would have had no problem. Try disconnecting the battery for at least 30 minutes, then hooking it back up and doing some drive cycles. I would then set the Edge to monitor voltage and make sure the altenator is charging the battery with 14.3 or so volts.

well i just had the battery and alternator checked. the alternator is good and the battery is over 50% like 53 i think he said. my boyfreind put his optima red top battery in my truck. its been sitting in a vehicle that does not run every day.
the 3 mile trip there and back, i had the edge reading 14.2 and 14.3 the whole time. the little wrench symbol on the dash is there but the truck seems to be a bit better.

what next?

Did you disconnect the battery for 30 min to let everything reset? Then you have to drive it about 30 to 50 miles to have enough drive cycles. The wrench should then go away. The battery really needs to be charged better than that. You need to drive it so it will charge up. That seems minimal to me. These trucks take a lot of juice to operate and so does the Edge.

The Edge is not the problem, it was driving with a bad battery. The Edge and the Gryphon are the same hardware and function exactly the same. The Edge actually gave her a warning that her battery was going out and had she heeded the warning would have no wrench light. If she spent more time on here, instead of out partying with with her friends, she would have known that!

you could do a search on the subject of "bad battery" and you will be amazed at what you will find as symptoms caused by a bad battery in these modern vehicles.

I agree, a bad battery will drive the Edge nut's. I had it happen about a year ago. Put a new battery in and no problems since. Bluejay, why would any young lady waste her time on here when she could be out partying?

Good question. Guess the only thing i can say is so she won't end up with a dead batter!

the battery is disconnected as we speak.

i probly wont be amazed, one time my boyfriend backed into a rock wall and popped my external back up light. it grounded out and popped a fuse. then my a/c wouldnt work!! we found out an a/c relay is in the same wiring as the power for my reverse lights. silly silly stuff.
anyway, im just scared to drive it now--i had to park and call edge from the side of the highway today on my way home.

I understand completely. I had planned on replacing my battery as part of preventative maintanance in October. But, without any warning ,in Sept, the truck went completely dead while I was in a store. Came out and didn't even have a flicker of lights. Just the alarm system ticking behind the rear seat. Most guys get flickering gauges or blinking gauges or the Edge acting up. I got nothing. Went and got a new battery, put it on, not another problem. These trucks take a lot of juice.
