I have the XCal2 and I have never unplugged my fuse box when flashing any of my trucks. I usually turn off all of my accessories like lights, radio, a/c, fans, etc.

When it asks to turn on the key, it just means to turn it to the first position without starting the truck.

I do not imagine it is different than my Livewire. As stated above you do not need to do anything with the fuses.

The device will tell you to turn your key on and NOT to start the engine.

Your device will prompt you on what to do.

SCT has a live chat option on their website as well if you have more questions.

http://www.sctflash.com/contact.php

The link on the bottom left will get you there

Load em up and have fun

Yeah just plug it in with your truck off and it'll tell you what do to do on the screen. It's really easy.

Not sure if I got this from SCT or from TP but I was told before uploading a new tune to remove the fuel pump fuse or something like that, something to do with fuel pressure before the truck actually starts. The fuse is in the fuse box under the hood on the drivers side in front of the brake master cylinder. It takes about 30s and I've had no probs.

No you don't have to do that. I didn't do anything besides plug it in and follow the directions. Everything worked perfectly.

I have never done that with mine. I have had Troyer tunes in the past and now, I have VMP with my new truck using an Xcal2. With both trucks, I turn off all of the accessories and simply follow the instructions on the SCT Flash screen.

I always return my truck to stock before I take it into the dealer for service, so I have gone back and forth between different tunes and "stock" many times over last two years on two different vehicles without removing any fuses.

It says you "may" want to remove the fuses. As in it's a suggestion.
Really what it's for is so that they're not liable for the retards that don't do the following:

1. Shut off A/C.
2. Turn off lights.
3. Shut off sound system.
4. Flash with engine not running.

Pretty simple if you ask me but you'd be surprised.
Also, what it means by "turn off electronics if applicable" is well... turn them off. Not "pull a s***load of fuses".

I agree on the suggestion but for me its just 1 fuse so I don't mind taking that extra step just in case Murphy shows up and messes with the process. Just wanted to share the info.

I just installed mine today (I have the xcal3). I plugged it in while the truck was off and followed the directions on the programer itself. As soon as you plug it in, it powers up and tells you what you need to do. Good luck.
