Dont even think about it just buy it!!!!!!!! i love the power of a tuner i have the intake, exhaust and tuner combo on my 07 4.6 2 wheel drive scab pulling 22s and its a totally different truck.... i did have ever thing on it before i added the tuner and once i Put it on i knew i would never take it off for as long as i own this truck and then i started running it on my premium tune even through the high gas prices and have been running it on premuim ever since... LOVE IT BUY ONE!!!!!!
OBDII port. its located under the dash below steering wheel. its kind of the shape of a trapezoid.
In addition to all that's been said, you usually get/order a variety of Tunes. Meaning that you can have different tunes for different objectives, it's not just about HP. I have 4 different VMP tunes right now, five if you include the stock tune. There is 87 Oct Towing, 87 Oct Performance, 87 Oct Mileage, and a 91 (California gas $ucks) Oct Performance tunes. So I now have the ability to adjust my vehicle to the type of driving I will be using it for. And I have the option of going back to stock with very little effort, don't even need a shop rag. Some of the programmers also do data logging and some can provide additional information on what your truck is doing, like transmission temp, IAT, ECT, and so on. If all your looking for is HP, then you might want to take it to the dyno shop and have it tuned there.

Bill would you say it is safe to raise the red line to 5500? I have never owned a V8 before this truck, but I do know that they are not always hi-reving engines. That being said, 5k just seem too low. My truck sounds like it loves it when I get in the 4k+ range once in a while, lol. Got dyno info for the level 2 and 3 below 3k?
I just ordered my tunes from Troyer so I can do a before, VMP, and Troyer dyno comparison. All I need now is one of those Gryphons to feel out the top three tuners out there eh
.
Will take a while for the Troyer tunes, but it should be pretty cool.

Yeti,
We've run the 5.4L to 6000 RPM on the dyno with no problems. In fact, I have customers that have their rev limiter set at 6000 because they really like to run their engines. I personally don't go higher then 5600 for the street, which is 400 over stock.
Don't have dyno info below what you see there. In order to do valid runs, we had to be able to run high enough to prevent the truck from downshifting. I used to have part-throttle dyno runs somewhere but I can't seem to locate them at this time. We used to tape a wood block underneath the accelerator pedal and then do dyno runs in each level. It was quite impressive to see the part throttle gains from each program at different throttle points.
If I come across them I'll be sure to get them up.
