whenever you get each custom tune, they replace one of the canned tunes. meaning that if you get 2 custom tunes, then you still have one canned tune left over. but i doubt that you will want the custom tunes back. you can still change the settings on the custom tunes too.

I ran two more 1/4 mile run's today! My first run was using the same setting's as before but by shift firmness was lowered to +10 for every shift and the temperature outside was 87 degrees compared to 70with my first run's and I also had a slight headwind this time too! My time for the first run was 15.67 @ 87.3mph,on my second run I increased my WOT shifting too 5250 rpm's but I forgot to increase my rev limiter so when my truck went to shift to second gear it hit the rev limiter a little bit and it slowed my truck down a little and my time was 15.73@89.1 mph! I'll be getting 93 octane gas for my truck in a couple day's so i'll be posting some more time's and see if they increase very much! I also got my x-pipe installed this morning too and now my truck sound's awesome it's not as loud anymore and it added a nice rumble to my exhaust!

I have a question about the custom tuning section on these.

When you select level 2, then "yes" for custom tuning, are these changes in addition to the changes in level 2 already? For example, with the shift firmness, is setting a 10 going to be more than level 2?

Sorry if this is confusing, just starting to play around with mine.

The short answer to your question is "yes". Now, I'll try to confuse you by adding on to this.

Your Level 2 tune has already done things like firm up the shifts, adjusted shift points, probably reset the spark curve and who knows how many other things - actually, Bill Cohron at PHP knows, since he was largely responsible for the design.

Now, you can still elect to "improve" on the level 2 settings, if you want to try. For instance, you may want to raise the max RPM and max speed - probably a good idea. You can, and should make sure your gear ratio and tire size are correct. You can alter the shift firmness if you don't like the "feel" of the level 2 settings. Get the picture?

But, if Bill has written a "custom" tune for you, you probably want to be just a bit more careful in changing some of these things. He's an expert, and he's "dialed in" settings that should optimize things for you. I'd be very reluctant, for instance, to mess with the spark advance on my level 2 custom tune, and I've left WOT fuel at Bill's setting.

So, are you sufficiently confused now?

Actually, that is what I needed to know. I'm not going to mess with the timing curves or fuel settings, just monkeying around with shift firmness and WOT shift points, but wanted to make sure the engine changes in level 2 would stay as well.

Thanks for the help!

Just wait till you try out the 91 octane setting! You'll never want to go back to 87 octane again! The power with the 91 compared to 87 is incredible! I haven't been able to run any new 1/4 mile time's but i'm sure it's going to drop a few tenth's of a second! I love the increase in power and also gained a little bit more fuel mileage so that offset's the difference in gas price's! Gas price's around here have also been about 2.89 a gallon for 91 or 93 octane so it's not too bad either!

I have been impressed with my Edge! The hypertech I thought was a decent increase from stock but the Edge makes the hypertech feel like a stock tune! Their's no comparison in my opinion! The only problem I have with my edge is that I can't seem to keep the pedal off the floor now! I can't wait to race my cousin's Chevy again with the Hypertech we ran side by side till 110mph now I should be able to pull away from his truck!
