Edge Evolution Programmer

A coworker of mine has an Edge Evolution for sale for $200 and I'm gonna buy it from him tomorrow but I was wondering if it's worth the money to buy it and have PHP convert it to a Gryphon or if it's just cheaper to buy the Gryphon and have the custom tunes installed and shipped to me from them? I was planning on getting VMP tunes but it's hard to pass up the Edge though! Thanks!

its $25 to convert, $50 per tune. and a new gryphon is $469 on sale right now, so thats an awesome deal! just make sure he re-sets the pcm on his truck to the stock tune and that his edge is for the right years(for you, his truck needs to be an 04+). and i assume both of you have a v8.

i wish i had a deal like that offered to me!

PHP(Bill & Corey) don't post their prices on here.
I can't remember if its not allowed or if its their personal preference?
But i will say you'll probably save $100 in the end.
the prices are on their site:
http://www.powerhungryperformance.com

on a side note make sure the display isn't faded or the LCD isn't blackening. thats occasioanlly happens to some of the older model edge evo's.
but make sure to contact them and they will let you know how much, what to expect, etc...

There are also shipping charges for the programmer itself, you need to pay for it both ways(to them and back to you). the tunes are placed online by bill upon completion, in which he will notify you when they are complete, so no S&H for tunes.

You're getting a good deal on this. Bill will send the programmer back to you rebranded as a Gryphon VERY quickly and you can use it with it's canned tunes while you wait for whichever of the custom tunes you want. And, you don't have to get three custom tunes if you don't need them so you can save even more. For instance, if you never "tow", don't get a towing tune. If you don't ever use 91+ gas, don't get that tune either.

Thanks for the help guy's! I'll be contacting Bill in a couple day's I wanna try out the canned tunes vs the Hypertech and see if their is any difference in power then get the custom tunes and compare them to the canned edge tunes. I'm gonna get 87 Performance,91 Performance and keep the canned 87 Towing tune. That will cost me about $125 so i'll only be spending about $325 for the custom tunes. I think I got a good deal!
