I haven't seen a dyno sheet yet of comparable tunes. Doubt I will either but it would be nice.

I wish I had free access to a dyno, I would be down to change the tunes and do a few runs. But yeah I'll give a seat of the pants review and comparison tonight.

Came home, loaded the 91 Perf tune and went for a drive.

First thing I noticed was the perfect idle, it almost didn't start, resetting the PCM I had the negative off the battery for a bit too long probably and shouldn't have had my headunit and both amps running while I was swapping tunes, but once it started the idle was very smooth.

Cruising out of the neighborhood I noticed that when I leaned on it a little it sped up quickly without needing to downshift or sounding bogged out, something the Troyer tunes were horrible with. Under 2500 rpm passing power is now AMAZING.

Once I got down to the street I pulled out and slowed to a stop, punched it, leaned into WOT quick and couldn't help but smile when my back tires spun, like a long loud chirp and off I took off for a suprisingly quick 0-60 run. Keep in mind I was already saying to myself "I might as well take the troyer tunes off and get more from VMP".

VMP's under 3k RPM performance totally dominates Troyers, my truck couldn't even get out of it's own way from a dig, or any low RPM range, with the Troyer tune.

Over 3k RPM performance feels mostly the same, I'd say the VMP tune feels like it pulls harder even than the Troyer tune, and the shifts are a little softer.

Overall, I'm extremely happy and I wish I hadn't waited 14 weeks to get my Troyer tunes when VMP wrote me one in 5 days.

These is the tune and performance I was looking for, thanks VMP.

I recently ordered a VMP tune and had previous troyer tunes and I hope the VMP tune is a good experience.

I haven't noticed, the drive to work this morning was effortless, passing power is amazing, throttle response is SO much better. I actually feel like I have a pedal again, when before if I pressed the throttle the truck didn't get up and move until 2500/3000 rpm.

Nice review, although you may not have the dyno sheets to "prove" anything, you made a great review from the seat of your pants, which in my opinion is a great opinion, and the fact that you have had both is a great way let others know what people who have had both think. I am glad I went with VMP in the first place. Welcome to the Brotherhood....

I had no doubts how you would feel about it. I couldn't be happier with my tunes. Best mod for my truck so far, and I don't think I will find a better one. Congrats!

Drive it for a few more days and see if the tune still feels the same. I know my truck always feels stronger right after I switch a tune or unhook the battery. Resetting the computer and making it relearn or something like that....?

I might have to give one of these VMP tunes a shot...

It's been a few days now and so far I love it, excellent power all around the powerband, great driveability. Slight torque convertor unlocking in cruise control.

While I went from a Troyer mail tune to a VMP dyno tune my experience has been dead on with his. I do have the 40mph hesitation and this is with VMP 93 perf, 4.10 gears, AF1 3.5, and 2.5 exhaust. I think you're going to get the hesitation with any tune. VMP

After flashing my PCM with the 87 performance tune from VMP, my truck now runs like a raped ape! It accelerates extremely well and pulls stronger throughout the entire power band. Ford really dampens the performance of the 5.4, but thankfully, Justin knows how to remedy this. He also go rid of that terrible hesitation when I stomp on the gas!

Justin not only knows how to tune our trucks, but he has excellent communications and delivers the tunes in a timely manner.

Kudos to VMP!
