Edge and Catback

Have the Magnaflow 16614 dual out the rear all stainless catback and was wondering if running the edge would give me any problems.

I don't plan on getting a CAI or any other mods so would the canned tunes be good enough for me?

I'm hoping for just a little performance and 1-2 mpg would be great.

Would actually help it run better. The Edge really works well when you have a catback and at least a better drop in filter.

I'm running a Gibson Catback, Edge and K&N drop in. I gained at least 2mpg

The gryphon is a rebranded edge...same everything except the gryphon can be custom tuned for your truck...long story short you can't have the edge custom tuned because of CARB reasons so the engineer of the edge made the gryphon which can be custom tuned....u can check out the gryphon at powerhungryperformance.com

So if you do not want custom tunes your better off with the edge for 100 dollars less or spend the extra now in case you want custom in the future?

Do both display mpg?

Yes, on the mpg display, but let me tell you, the custonm tunes are awesome. I ran the canned tunes for about 35,000 miles or more and got an 87 Performance and a 93 Performance tune and they are fantastic. Bill can also do economy tunes and tow tunes.

I'm running a custom 3" catback with an 18" magnaflow muffler and the edge (gryphon) canned tunes with no problems.

If I were buying a tuner now, knowing what I know, I would buy the Gryphon and run the canned tunes it comes with(which are the same as the Edge tunes), until Bill could do my custom tunes. I would talk with Bill about what I wanted to achieve and it will take 4 to 6 weeks to get the custom tunes.

can you put catbacks on your truck after you get the custom tunes or do you have to get that tuned in

It is my understanding that exhaust makes no difference to a tune. Only the air intake and it's volume in relation to fuel.

I was all about trading my 05 fx4 superscrew in for a fuel economy car beacause I really use my truck for nothing except bringing trash to the dump.

I went to one dealer and was ready to sign on a new Malibu and they wanted to give me 14,200 for my truck .

Its listed at kbb and edmunds for around 18,500 trade in. So I don't really want to take a hit on the truck and I don't drive it that much with only 24,000 miles after 3 yrs.

So I started looking at what I can do to make this truck give me better gas mileage. So if the Edge and Bill's have the same tunes but Bill's can be customed that would probably be the way to go.

Is there a wait to get the Gryphon to the house or just the tunes?
Is there anything else to get a little better gas mileage besides keeping the foot light? Tonneau cover is just a old wives tale for gas mileage?

I had the same setup on my 04 F150 and it was great, no problems at all. Now I am running the 16612 SISO and the EDGE on my 06, no problems there either.
