Gryphon Custom Tunes

Well, I got my gryphon in with the voucher for the custom tunes.
Time to order
I need suggestions on what people are running out there. I have a 08' 5.4 Supercrew 2WD. The truck is stock and will be staying stock!
It is my everyday driver to my family weekend trip driver. i use it for everything. I do tow a 24 ft camper around 5,000lbs. almost every other weekend. My main concern is the pedal lag and hesitation when accelerating. I pretty much want what everyone wants.MORE performance and better fuel mileage Now, if that has to be accomplished in 2 different tunes, than so be it. I am a newbie, so I know NOTHING about shift points or firmness or "greek" stuff like that. I would like it to be programmed in with the tunes , where I can just install the tunes and not have to worry about making adjustments
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

My suggestion:

Talk to Bill - discuss what you want and take notes. Then, follow up with the tuning form and a written reminder of the conversation and your needs, concerns, etc.

This way, you'll get what you want, not what some of us think you want.

One of my biggest frustrations with the canned tunes in my Edge( same hardware as the Gryphon) was how it would not downshift at certain speeds when I needed to accelerate in a hurry. I mentioned this to Bill and his custom tunes fixed that. I moved the canned level 2 tune which is a towing tune to the level 1, and added Bill's 87 Performance and 93 Performance tunes. I really enjoy them both, but have been running the 87 Perf most of the time, due to the cost of 93. His 87 Perf is better than the canned level 3.

Whoa! multitalented

But Seriously BlueJay, I was also thinking of leaving the canned tow tune on there. But if it's not downshifting at certain speeds, that might be a problem

I don't tow a lot so the canned towing tune was fine for me. You might want Bill's custom towing tune. I drive a lot of freeway and two lane highway miles, so when I punch it, I need to be able to go, or it will be too late. There are spots, such as 40 mph and about 60 mph where the canned tunes would not downshift. Was very frustrating to me. This was in level 2 and level 3, both. This was one of my specific requests to Bill and now, it will downshift when I just think about it. Well, almost. He solved the problem, plus, it just has more power and responsivness.

if you order your gryphon, and you will keep your truck stock, bill can probably give you a very similar tune as mine. i spoke with him and he said he'll come up with my tunes soon. my truck will stay stock as well and i'm getting the 87 per tune and will try out his mileage tune later.

I just ordered the Gryphon from Bill and chose an 87 Perfornace and a 91 Performance, I did not have to choose the 3rd right away he told me to think about it and use it when I wanted. Cant beat that

YEA, Thats pretty cool u can use the voucher later on. I definately plan on getting the 87 perf for now. I just didnt know if it was as easy as saying "send me the 87 perf" and having the sift points/firmness already set witht the tune.

Just an FYI...

we have a spot on our custom order form for you to tell us what you'd like on each level (even leaving the level at stock). We also have a field right next to it where you can tell us anything else we need to know for Bill to write your custom tunes. Then again, you can always give us a call and explain it to him "in person."

We're flexible.
