That's exactly what i was unhappy with. The 1 to 2 was a pain. Pulling away from lights with a normal amount of throttle and she would rev up to 3500 and higher sometimes. Im sure peeps though i was racing them as you would hear my engine screaming before it went into second. On cold morning it was worse as it did not want to change to second!
Justin's tune you get results as soon as you touch the peddle kinda like the edge did but it is much more drivable and sound great with my AF1.
not to derail the thread, but Irish, do you have any pics of your truck?
Here she is a little dirty but nun the less just for you Big slick.

My AF1.

My Bilstien 5100 front.

I'm not trying to start a my tune is better than your's. But Justin's tune works better for me. My truck is my daily driver and i took a chance on his tune as i was sick of the way mine shifted and the way she was eating the gas with my TP tune. I have been running my truck on level 2 with my edge for about a week or so and liked it better also the mpg was better. Justin's tunes gave me the same as the edge with mpg and also the power of my TP tune. His tune is much more drivable than the edge and sounds great. No drone! Its like TP's tune but no hanging on to 1st and shes got alot more get up and go with little peddle compared to my TP tune which you had to put your foot into it more to get the same response.
I got a moderate 87 performance tune and im sure his normal tune preforms better but this tune works great for me. I will get more tunes from him again as i like the next day service i got with the tune emailed to me. The 3-4 months wait for my other tunes was way to long and i was disappointed when i installed them. I talk to another member who also got his tunes and he said the same. I will not mention his name. Im sure he will post about it if he wants.
Jeeze im starting to sound like Thumper preaching VMP Tuning. But im glad i talk to Thumper and got Justin to write a tune for me.

I love them. There almost like stock but a little firmer. Hardly noticeable to tell you the truth, but she eats pot holes and handles much better. She seems to drive better on the 2" setting than on my AS 2" leveling kit.
Go for it 05 you will like them.

Still not sure where you were going with this comment? Maybe you thought Thumper put me up to this and i did not even have a truck.

If you're happy with a product, especially a product like this, you're going to recommend it to anyone you can. Especially with the internet forums because thats what they are here for to help others with their vehicles and purchases. It's no different than all of the guys that preach Troyer. It was probably Racing2Fast who was preaching VMP to you, am I right?

Isn't it funny how there are fewer and fewer Troyer supporters, versus a year or two ago?

Got my VMP tunes a couple weeks ago, they are awesome! Feels like a completely different truck now! I got 87 perf, 87 tow, and 87/E85 mileage. Only thing I don't like is on a cold start, the truck idles a little rough and revs up and down about 50-100 rpm for the first 15-20 seconds or so, then it smooths out and drops rpm down like normal. When floored, the shift is a little slow at redline, almost like it revs to redline then waits a second before shifting. Not a big deal, I can live with it. Guess I'm just used to my Mustang's C4, when I shift it under full thottle, there's no lag at all.

Lariat, I see that you are running a 3.5-inch AF1. I had a similar occasional rough idle issue with mine so I tried the 3-inch tube and it's smooth as silk and I really don't feel any power loss. Maybe a dyno would show it but nothing noticeable. I know it's not a huge deal but it grew more annoying to me so just fyi you can pick up a 3-inch tube fairly cheap.
