UPDATE!!
I recieved my e-mail today and can't wait to get home tonight and install my custom tunes. I have to agree with EVERYONE and say that dealing with PHP has been nothing but great. These delays are expecting when running a new business that is taking off like this one is. I will let you know how the new tunes work.

I wonder if I made the right choice now. I've been nothing but patient, but maybe too patient. It seems if you call and talk to Bill or Corey you somehow get moved to the top of the list while guys like me who don't need to call get the shaft.

Anyone know the return policy on the Gryphon is?
Adam,

Generally, our policy is to accept returns within thirty days from the date on your invoice. We charge a 15% restocking fee (pretty much standard in the electronics industry), but we will refund the balance to you the day your programmer reaches us. Your invoice is dated March 31 and two of your three files are finished, but we will still accept your return.

Within the past hour, Bill e-mailed custom files to a customer who had been waiting since March 11, so I just want to make it clear that you're not the only one waiting on custom tuning, and others have waited longer than you have.

Invoices are entered as the orders come in, so customers' tunes are written in that order. Everyone once in a while, a customer comes to us due to a legitimate driveability issue that needs to be addressed and yes, Bill does work on their tunes at that point. I would hope that makes sense to you and anyone else on the forums.

Additionally, there have only been two incidents that I know of where a current customer moved up in the queue. One was a mistake a couple of weeks ago. (I've posted about this one, and it was my fault.) The other one was for one of our April customers who was going on a 1,500 mile cross country trip and was driving. With the cost of fuel, it only seemed fair to write his tune so that he could get the most benefit from his programmer. He asked if it was possible to get his custom tune before his trip (he was okay if we couldn't do it!) and we made the decision to help him out. Now, he didn't get his tune in April, but we made sure he had it the day before his trip last week. I think that's just being a nice human being, and I would hope that someone would do the same type of thing for me.

Bill stayed up all night again last night, went to bed about 9AM and woke up at noon to begin working. There is only so much he can do, and I'm sorry if we've disappointed you.

Don't know how long you've been waiting but "55post" received his @ just over 4 weeks. If you've been keeping track of the forum talk as of late, Bill and Corey are in this alone and Bill does much more than just PHP let alone personal things that may happen. Running your own business is hard and it's even harder when it "takes off" like PHP has. I personally don't know Bill and Corey but from my dealings with them and reading their post (even from back when Bill was with Edge) They are "GOOD PEOPLE" and I'm sure that no one is getting "bumped". If you do feel strongly about how the process has gone for you, you have every right to stated it, but please don't imply things when you may not have the whole story. Give PHP a call or send them an email before venting your fustration out in a public forum. Too many times this occurs and unneeded and unsubstantiated thoughts are put out. About your final question of the return policy - again, call and ask.

Archer

I am about ready to buy a tuner. Trying to make up my mind between the VMP/XCal route and this Gryphon with custom tunes..

I you don't mind me askin' what is the current wait for a Gryphon with custom tunes? I am not trying to put anyone on the spot.. just tryin' to compare the two choices I am down to.

Thanks,
James

Hey James,

The turnaround on the Gryphon (with its canned tunes) is about 1-2 days. The custom files will take at least a month. Shoot, we just received five orders today, so the line is only growing... Sorry about that. Wish we could get them done sooner, but Bill is the only one with the custom tuning experience. I'm trying to take as much off his shoulders as I can to free up his time, but I can't seem to do enough! Bill has a lot of respect for Justin, so if you decide to go that route, I'm sure you'll be pleased.

I just re-read my original post. Heck, I'm not sorry that business is good (it's an amazing blessing for our family!)... I AM sorry that customers can't get their tunes faster. Just wanted to explain.

Well...
Downloaded the custom tunes and tried loading them into the truck and got an ERROR F1 code.
It's late on the west coast so I will call Bill in the morning.
I will keep you updated. I am sure it is something I did wrong.

What some of you may not realize is that it comes to you almost immediatly with canned tunes. The wait is only for the custom tunes. I drove my truck with the canned tunes for 30,000 plus miles and was totally satisfied. They are so much better than stock, it's amazing. The custom tunes just add to the performance. So, get the Gryphon and enjoy the canned tunes for the 4 to 6 weeks while you wait on the custom tunes. Even with the canned tunes, you won't want to go stock ever again.
