Used 1715 Gas Micro Tuner for sale?!

Howdy guys,
I have a chance to buy a used 1715 "Gas" Micro Tuner for $150.

1) Is Gas different than Max did the guy just list it wrong?

2) I have a 97 F150 4x4 w/4.6L, 200,000 miles, oversize tires & different gear ratio......would it be worth it to me if i wanted to stay with 87 octane?

3) Is this a good buy?

-Ben-

if it's this one here it will work but make sure it isn't loaded with another trucks stock tune on it; won't work then

If you can, try it out first; taste before you buy

Superchips "MAX" Micro Tuner for 1997-2003 Ford Trucks (including Lightning & Harley!), Vans & SUV's w/V8 or V10

It's on craigslist, and he has a picture posted of the same Superchips programmer, but it is an older model. I called so hopefully I will be able to check it out in the next day or two.

the old old style only have one (1) tune, no good

it has to have three (3) tunes

87 tow
87 max
91 max

That is the picture and programming options that the guy posted, but yesterday on the phone he says it will program for 87 octane.

I read that only 99's and newer can only recalibrate the speedometer and I have a 97' so will it still be able to recalibrate the speedometer?

OK, when I go to check it out....I'm going to hook it up to my truck and then what should I do or what will it say if it isn't currently programmed to another truck?
And where will I see the 87 tow, 87max, and 91 max?

There should be a label on the top with a version date. It needs to be September 03 or newer to have the 3 programs.

Just picked one up for $140 WHOOP!

No manual or instructions though.

When I select A=Tuning, it asks if the Fuel System is disabled? I'm assuming no, but not sure. Just want to do it right the first time.

Any tips or instructions for me to go by?

Pull the fuel pump fuse or just say yes.

I downloaded a manual for the 1714 because there was no 1715 manual on the Superchips. But I got it set to 87 Octane, and can tell a difference. I'm almost at an empty tank, and after Friday I don't think I will have to tow anything for a week or so. Then I really would like to try the 91 Octane performance. Thanks for the help guys.
