I was thinking of trying to use some double sided tape but this would be a little awkward to do as ther is only a few places I could stick the tape. I just thought I would check and see how everyone on here atttached there pod. I still can not believe they did not provide a way to attach it. did they just think we would just sit it there and let it flop arround.
Unfortunately, we have exactly the number of brackets needed for our own inventory -- we'd love to be able to help you out! -- but Bill is confident that if you contact Edge Products directly, they would be happy to send you the brackets for a small charge. Good luck!

It's a fairly long, trapezoidal "female" port which is visible without taking anything off. The Edge power cord plugs into it with very little effort if you're doing it right. Don't force it!

And yes, the cable you feed up the side of the dash is the one from the diagnostic port to the connector in the BACK of the Edge, not the USB port on its side.

Hey guys, I have a used Edge on the way and I was reading the manual online about the Tow Level and how it helps performance and Gas mileage. My question is does it really help and can you use it at all times even if you are not towing. Also does it work well with an auto start alarm system?

My truck has a "factory" alarm system and there's no problems. I don't know anything about your system. However, once you program your PCM, if you leave the Edge plugged in, it just acts like extra gauges. Good to have if you'd like to monitor things like transmission fluid temp or oil temp while towing.

You might be able to get the same results if you contact these people: http://paintscratch.com/ Looking at how they use your VIN, it appears they take into account little variances between assembly plants. (And, those variances exist! Trust me, I know from a previous vehicle and a bed cap).
You'll probably have to talk to them since it's an interior color, but that's the approach I'd take!
(I painted mine with DupliColor Dark Metallic Grey and find it doesn't look too bad. A picture doesn't really help here - it just looks "dark". But, the nice thing about paint is, you can paint over it!)

Well, after using a screwdriver unsuccesfully to try to pry open the panel by the dash, i thought there had to be an easier way, even though i was able to remove most of the tabs, there was one that would not budge, i tried doing it from different angles and i could literally see how it was about to snap (the plastic unions started turning white like when u bend an brake a credit card) also the pressure of the screwdriver against the panel started leaving small marks as i increased pressure trying to pop open the panel, then i had an idea, i got a piece of thread, i drove by the crack where the dash and the pillar meet, then, frm under the dash, tied up the cable that connects to the Evo and i pulled it up, i had to push in the pillar wich was really easy and safe, to make the end of the cable come right up, i attached the pod, looped the excess wire inside the pod, and plugged the unit in place, all this took me about 90 seconds and most of that time was looping the cable making it fit inside the pod.
removing side panel
When iI removed the side panel it was pretty cold out . So I got the truck good and warm blasting the heat in the driveway . this helps to make the plastic more flexable. I believe I had a hair dryer ready in case I needed it. once It was good and warm everything was more plyable and came apart without any breakage.
