Question Edge or Remote starter issue?

K...Got my Edge a couple of days ago and finally had a chance to install it on my 06 crew. So I tested Everything and it went fine until I tested my remote starter. The truck started no poblem but the edge booted up with nothing on the screen??? Put the key in the ignition and turned it to the on postion and still nothing. Turned the key off and removed it and the edge stayed on with no display/numbers showing??? Started the truck again and the same thing happen, edge on with no numbers/display? Disconnected the edge and plugged it back in and it was fine? This was all done in a heated garage so the cold temp had nothing to do with it, truck was nice and warm.
Anyone else having this problem or have any suggestions?

Also; anyone install their edge, program their truck and then remove it for a couple of months with the new program in the truck?
Its so cold here lately I dont wanna be pulling it out every night and putting it back in every morning until it warms up. I read on here that the LCD acts up when it cold and I'm guessing -30C is the perfect tremperature for the LCD to start acting up.....lol
I even start to act up when its -30C

Thanks all

if im understanding u correctly, yes it is ok to program your tuck and disconnect the edge. By doing this, you obviously will not have the extra guages.

As far as the blsnk display, Im guessing its the weather. I have an Edge and remote start and no problems here.

Hope that helps

Could it be that the key is not in the "on" position??

Dunno, but putting the key in the ignition and turning it to the on position didn't rectify anything.
I even shut it off, removed the key and the Edge stayed on with a blank screen when there shouldnt be any power going to the edge. So I restarted it and the edge still had a blank screen, unplugged it and plugged it back in and it was good to go???

I read on here somewhere that a guy was having battery issues.
Is it possible when I start my truck the strain on the battery from:
1. the power thats being used to turn over the engine
2. the power going through the remote starter components and
3. the power being used to power the Edge

is just too much?

I was out of town for over a week and when I started my truck up next, the same thing happened to my Edge screen. I'm guessing it was a battery issue since it sat for so long without the alternator keeping the battery charged or something. Seems to be a battery issue.

And yes, you can program your truck and take the Edge completely out without hurting anything and your tune will still be loaded.

Update.....
I return the truck to stock the night I had the issue with my edge/remote starter. Last night at work I reinstalled it, programed it to level 2, tried the remote starter and no problems?
It worked just like it suppose to.
I still have no idea what or why and dont really care now that its working properly.

It was an interesting ride home this morning with it installed,I will admit I was a bit skeptic at first but anyone buying a F150 should just buy one of these because it really does make a difference

Thanks for all the replies

I have the same problem with my Edge, but not your same conditions.

But the problem always comes back. I can't get rid of it permanantly...

I have the exact same problem with my Edge, but I think it is due to the cold since it didn't start happening until it got really cold here (Alberta also). I have an Ungo 2-way alarm/remote start but it does it even if I use the key instead of the remote start. I've just ended up removing the Edge for the time being until its gets warmer & I'll try it again.

Yeah...This cold weather we are having sucks. I have been taking mine out of the truck and putting it back in.
