Edge Level 1 mystery

OK I just noticed something both the manual in my box and the manual on the internet say level 1 is the "Trans Only" tune, yet the actual Edge screen in my truck has #1 listed as "Economy." And when you read about the Evolution on Edge site, it says there are three levels with 1 being "Trans only" but then it goes on to state there is a special Economy tune for MPG.

Im confused!! Is the Economy tune something new that just came out?

I see something about an Economy tune for a new Edge for the Dodge Hemi Engine (yes Virginia, there are other engines out there in the world) but nothing like you describe for the Ford. The Edge for the Dodge even has FOUR (count em, 4!) settings! (Do us Ford drivers feel deprived?)

Possibly, the level 1 setting will improve your gas mileage a bit, but Bill would be the expert here.

Man is that ever odd.... I'll have to look into it. Did it come that way out of the box, or did it happen after an update? Let me know.

Straight from Edge site:

When used in its programmer mode, the Edge Evolutions provides 3 power levels (transmission only, tow and performance) designed to extract the most performance from the fuel you are using. With gains up to 35 HP and 50 ft. lbs. of torque, you will feel like you put a new engine in your truck.

The Evolution also provides a special mileage tune designed to extract maximum performance from low-octane fuel.

Dont hold your breath waiting on a response! If you want an answer you better call them, other wise it wil be ignored. Ive sent them e-mails in the past and never recieved one reply.
I have called them and were very nice.

Lightning Update

wreedKR,
You will need to do another update from the Lightning software. Make sure that you Update the Calibration and the Firmware to the very top number of the options givin. This will take care of your issue. They had the wrong calibration listings. It is actually the Trans only Mode, it will just say economy. The wording is just improper. Just let me know if you have any other questions.
Thanks,
Mastagolla

Boom 831,
Try level 2 if you are looking for better mileage. The motor doesn't have to work as hard with the extra fueling and spark advancement. Mileage will also depend on the way you drive. LOL.

Do i need to return the truck to stock before doing a update with the lightning software? or will it realized it has been updated when connected to the truck.

Again, it's in the manual. Always, always, always return to stock before any upgrade or before anyone touches your PCM!
