Question Edge worth it or not?

K.....
I looked all over the site and read many threads regarding the Edge programmer, but what I really want to know is it really worth the money? What do you think get one or not?

Just wondering how or if it will help with towing my 27' travel trailer.

Both the Edge or the Xcal are well worth the money!! Regardless which one you buy. Its night and day differance going from stock to either one!! And yes it will help pulling a 27' travel trailer!!

I have the Edge and love it!

If you are completely stock the Edge will be worth it. Plus its nice to have all the gauges. If you have a cai or catback I would get a custom tune because the Edge may run your truck lean.

I have the Edge and love it, but I also got it when it was still only $330. I'm not sure if I'd pay over $400 bucks for it :o

A real hot exhaust, engine compartment. Pull some plugs and see what they look like. If possible jump on a dyno and check your a/f. BTW nice truck. It must be killing you not to be able to drive it yet. Be safe.

I love my Edge Evo. I also bought it when it was $330. I tow a 31' TT.... 8500#. The gauge display is excellent. I am also running a custom exhaust but stock air intake. No problems to date. 1 1/2 years with it installed.

I love my Edge, would pay full price for it, knowing what it does for my truck.

A catback exhaust will cause a truck to run lean, explain?

You don't need a dyno to log AFRs. What you meant to say is you need a wideband.

I put one on my old 99 and I though it made a night and day difference.I took it off when I was trying to sell it and I couldn't believe what a dog it was without it.Can't wait to get one for the 05.As for towing,I use to use my truck to pull my 2200lb car trailer along with my mudder on it roughly weighing 6,000 so 8,200lbs total and my 99 on 38's with stock 3:73 gears and it pulled it just fine with the edge

Like it was said already - If you run it with mods it sucks and if you think it's good , you don't know what your missing IMO.

If your stock it's fine...

I've heard so many complaints - just go with a Troyer tune intake and cat back system. You won't be disapointed..

People have ran the edge with an intake and not ran lean.

Not when you can get an Xcal II with custom tuning for roughly the same cost.

I bought a new Edge off EBAY about a month ago for $365 w/free shipping. I think it's a pretty good product that is easy to use, adds power and the gauges are great. I pulled my 27" TT (6200 lbs dry) over Veterans Day weekend and it was awesome. You can really feel the increased power if you're towing or not.

I picked the Edge over the others because to me the gauges alone make the whole thing worthwhile.
