They told me around the holidays they slow up a bit so you may get it early.

Alright I was going to go with the edge... i like the guages. but now with the xcalIII having canned tunes... I am about to pull the trigger on this route. You can use the canned tunes then upgrade to custom later, correct? And if I call Troyer to order the xcalIII how much $$$ am I expecting to pay? And how long until it ships (do I still have the long wait even with NO custom tuning?) Thanks for the help all.

Call them for pricing, tell them you are a member here and you get a discount.

You can order the unit with 3 custom tunes, and have them send you the unit right away so you can use the canned tunes. Then when your custom tunes are writen, they will email them to you. Then, you upload them onto your Xcal3 and then load them onto your truck's PCM.

WELL worth it IMO. Love the tunes, they are awesome.

There is good info in this thread. I just want to clarifiy my original question.

If I order the Xcal 3, would it ship sooner (quickly) with the canned tunes?

So I could use it while waiting for a custom tunes update.

Is that true?

Thanks y'all.

Dave

Pretty much true. You could have your X Cal III in hand while you wait on your tunes. Me? I decided to wait and have the unit shipped with the tunes already loaded. Anyway, back to your original question, yes you should be able to have your tuner in hand while you wait for tunes.

You would have it in 1-2 days if its in stock. Give them a call.

So the custom tunes come via email and than you hook your Xcal3 up to your computer and download them onto the device?

MercedesTech,

I ordered from Troyer a week before Halloween, so now I'm my 5th week going into 6 weeks. Too bad those tunes are written for specific vehicles (computer number, engine size, mods, etc.), and we have different trucks. Or I would just let you load my tunes onto your truck.

I'll let you know when mine comes in the mail. Maybe that will give you a better idea of when you'll get yours.
