The canned tune on the Xcal3 is ok. I am anxious to get the custom tune in 6-7 weeks. Will I really notice that much difference between the two? If I notice a difference, then a GLOWING review will be written.

What's the difference b/t the Xcal2 and 3? They both just hold custom tunes right? Or is the Xcal3 the LiveWire deal?

i believe the x3 comes with canned tunes upgradeable to custom, faster loading times and packs a few more features-phil

I hope you see a difference. Canned tunes are "Per-SCT". Now if SCT went all out on their canned tunes, other dealers would hardly stand the chance.

Shine, when I bought my XCal2 I basically had "canned" tunes directly though SCT. Over several weeks and phone calls they sent 5 or 6 tunes to get the XCal2 showing some performance without slamming shifts until finally they sort of impressed me (at the time) with firmer yet smooth shifts and some noticeable power. Nothing SCT sent me was as good as the combination tunes VMP did for me for even my (stock) intake. I won't even bother with a Troyer comparison. While I haven't felt the X3 canned tunes, I'd be extremely suprised if the custom tunes weren't considerably better than the canned.

Hey 05dupercrew,

You wont be disappointed with your choice of the Xcal 3. Its a very nice unit. Plus Troyer does all the necessary updates to it before he ships them out. So its ready to go as soon as you get it.

PS any sign of your tunes yet? Damn dude you must be chomping at the bit by now!

I'm curious,

If I ordered the Xcal3, could I start using it right away then get the custom tunes as an update?

Thanks y'all

Dave

Hey Dave,

It comes with some preloaded tunes on it. Three i think but they are not going to be even half as good as a custom tune form Troyers.

I'd give Troyer a call then and see what's up? I mean, 9 weeks??? You may want to make sure everything is ok! Let us know what's up. I'm hoping 6 to maybe 8 weeks for mine. I'd hate to think it could be longer!

I called them on the 14th of Nov. and Crystal told me I was in line in about a week but Thanksgiving was last week and there were a couple of days they werent tuning do to project cars. So this is the first full week. People who are getting there tunes e-mail to them are getting them faster. Im waiting on everything. I was told 8-10 weeks so I really have another week.
