Yes, I've noticed that more of us with those hexes have tuning issues. Coincidence?

Hex RXCM5B6

Level 3 custom tune tranny shudder. Feels like the TC locking and unlocking over and over. (50MPH stumble?)

On an 05? Man, that's odd. I just want to be able to run level 3 with custom settings.

What?? You can run level 3 without custom setting and not have the shudder issue? I can't run it at all without it doing it.

I tried with custom settings, had shudder, then I gave up on level 3. Never tried base level 3. Sorry for the confusion.

You guys should really upgrade to Vista. I heard it's much more stable.

Someone tell me when the firmware is stable. Im kinda sketchy on updating with BETA tunes.

Ive just noticed that at least 3 of us have "RX...." and 2 of us have "RXCM..." hex codes.
I know how you feel, but look at it like this, the update does not mention my HEX code either but I upated and now mine works good so far. You can always go back to the previous one.

Plug it into the computer with lightning3 open
Use the update manager and with it open it shows you the newest update and the former one.
If it don't work on your truck then you can just do it again and choose the older one from the drop down list.

So? My question is?? Those of us that have no issues with our Edge tuners (keeps fingers crossed) Should we even update our tuner? I have never updated mine from the time I bought it last year. I don't know if I should leave it alone or update? Part of me says...

If it ain't broke, don't touch it!

The other part of me says... Are there any updates that I may need??

Inquiring minds want to know!

What he said, however I flashed mine back in June of this year when I bought mine. No Problems here but curious since Bill has updated it should we flash our units as well?

It just makes me mad EDGE knew about these problems and blew people off! Then Bill contacts EDGE to help us out and now have a fix for the guys that have been having issues all this time. Im not sure If I will buy another one now just because of it. I just think its rediculous! Thank goodness BIll was nice enough to help out because the guys at EDGE are clueless??

I hate to say it but I'm generally of the opinion "If it ain't broke..."

The units that had the problem ar the later versions of the Evo that had the larger OBDII connector that had the extra plug on the side. These units incorporate the newer processors and I guess in the conversion there was a bug in the custom options that didn't get caught. If you have the older version of the Evo that has the small OBDII connector with no extra plug on the side, this issue doesn't affect you.

As for any drivability issues, these will be applicable to either unit as they both use the same calibration file set. I will be working on these as time permits and hope to have resolutions for you guys as quickly as possible. I know it's hard to ask you to be patient, especially after experiencing these problems for months (or longer??) but drivability/tuning issues are much more difficult to isolate and resolve than firmware issues are. I hope you understand.

With that said, I again appeal to anyone in the greater Atlanta area who is experiencing any drivability issue to please drop me an e-mail indicating the nature of your problem and the HEX code of your PCM. If at all possible, I'd like to see your truck and spend some time with some calibration testing.

Well, back to work. :P

Bill

I have just located this resource where all you guys are having problems with your Edge Modules. Let me say, I'm a bit slow. I wish that I would have logged on here about 2 weeks ago. I thought I was the only one having problems. I will concur with those of you that have the general opinion that Edge doesn't seem concerned with these little "problems". Took me about 4 phone calls to even speak to a person out there. Turns out everyone was at "Weekend on the Edge" so no one was available. Well, i'll make this short and sweet. Pretty much, any time I change any of the custom options (tire size and gear ratio are my prime changes) the truck runs like ****; for example: starts up, idles down into the 300's then dies. Start the truck for a second time, the idle RPMs immediately dive down into the 200's-300's, then recover into the 500-600's then level off. So, I start driving, cruise to highway speeds, then, when I maneuver a turn and let totally off the gas, as soon as I cut the wheel and apply the brakes (midway through my turn) I notice that the RPMs are quickly diving by the triple digits and is all of a sudden at ZERO and my truck has STALLED! Then, while I sit by the side of the road with my four ways on (so far i haven't side-swiped anyone at an intersection because of loss of power steering) I attempt to start the engine, only to find the same behavior as listed above has returned. (including the extreme low idle situation which leads to a stall out). I have tried increasing the idle speed custom setting as well, all the way to the maximum parameter (of 300) which i believe is a percent? with no change at all in engine idle speed. BILL, sounds like you are THE MAN when it comes to tech support. I need your help please. Your diagnosis will be GREATLY APPRECIATED!
Please note the following:
HEX FILE: OKCM6C5.HEX
BOOTLOADER: 2.50.1857
FIRMWARE: 2.50.2995
CALIBRATION: 1.0.3120
HARDWARE OR VERSION: 7
DATE OF MFG: 8/9/2007

ALSO, TRUCK INFO:
2005 STX WITH THE 4.6 LITER
4X4 SUPERCAB
3.55 GEARS

How many others having problems with the 4.6?
Seems like alot of guys have these units on the 5.4 engines.

Also, my hex file differs greatly from everyone else's... what does that mean?
