I talk with Edge today about mine (I sent it in for a new LCD screen) They are replacing it with a new unit instead of replacing the screen. I should have it early next week. I can post my HEX code then, but, I just had the PCM reflashed by the dealer today so it's not going to be the same code. Should I try running the new unit to see if it still shudders or not before I post it or is it still going to do it anyways, since I was already having the problem before?

Do that. I think the level 3 shudder is the main problem we have with the Edge.

Talked with Bill today and I will be trying to get with him on sunday to see if he can help me and everyone else resolve some of our issues.

He is really a class act to stand up and try to help others out and not to mention give up a sunday to do it !!!

I will post my results if I'm able to hook up with him and I'm sure he will chime in on what he finds.

Smile Me HEX code Bill

RXCM4E8.HEX
2005 F-150 FX4 FLARESIDE 24V 5.4 LITER

If you get this Bill, Im the one in NC that spoke to you just after you got to DP in GA last week. Don't know if the hex codes helps or not but I seem to be having the most problems out of everyone by what Im reading so far.

Hope you can get this thing figured out. And like everyone else here. THANK YOU

List of my problems to date:
1) Custom tunes won't work
2) Level 3 studder (Don't know if it's the motor or tranny doing this)
3) Lightning software does not reconize the model# when plugged in.
4) Will not retrieve Data logging and graphs from the unit to the desktop.

Last couple days it seems inconsistant also. I put it on level 1 economy last night and now my trucks runs like it's on level 3 as far as power, actualy feels good other than the quick shift points.
I done this because level 2 was feeling slugish last night and my gas mileage dropped down for some reason.

Question On another note

Has anyone been monitoring there IAT. (Incomming Air Temp)?
I have a stock intake on my 5.4 Liter and have been monitoring the IAT real close, the incomming air is typicaly about 10 to 12 degrees hotter than the outside ambient temp (per the trucks thermometer for outside air)
I have noticed that when the temp gets above 85 degs or so (on the IAT) it starts running sluggish.
Keep in mind these temps are while moving at a good pace and As I mentioned above Im in NC. Been having cool nights latley.
By my GPS Im around 300ft above sea level. But at night she runs great below 85.
I know this is normal when hitting hotter air but mine seems to run a little worse than one would expect.

Just curious how others temps are acting.

I took my intake off from the box one day in the driveway just for chits and giggles and started the truck up and the edge temps quickly jumped to 142deg with the hood open.

EZRIDR, I live in Hillsborough and have been monitoring my Inlet Air Temp too. For now everything is stock except for the EDGE on Lvl 2. Mine will show anywhere from 6 to 10 degrees warmer. Seems to be a higher margin with higher outside temps. I have not noticed my engine running bad but fuel mileage takes a hit at higher temps. I will be trying a CAI one of these days.

1) hex code
2) problem

Off-topic issues aren't helping Bill. He's obviously monitoring this thread, so let's not waste his time. You can always start a new thread.

I met with Bill today and He worked on my truck for several hours and was able to isolate several problems.

He said that he was able to confirm the issues as far as custom tuning and that he had already talked to EDGE and that he would call them and confirm there findings and that he thought that they had a fix ready to go and that hopefully we would see it on monday

Well, so far so good. Just got off the phone with TA396 and he confirmed that the custom options problem has been resolved. At the present time the only other issues I am aware of are the "low idle" issue and the "50 MPH stumble" issue. I am still investigating these issues and hope to have some sort of resolution in the next few days.

If anyone has any other problems, please let me know and I will do my best to get them resolved.

Thanks again to TA396 for his time on Sunday.

Take care.

Bill

Ok everyone I downloaded the update from EDGE and it seems to be working properly I was able to custom tune every aspect of my truck and I must say
I LOVE IT even more now than I did before

From my own testing and talking with Bill this is what I came up with for my tune

Level 3
shift firm 1-2 (10) 2-3 (15) 3-4 (15)
timing with 93 octane fuel is 1.5
wot shifting 1-2 (5100) 2-3 (5200) 3-4 (4600)
rev limit (5500)
wot fuel (1.5)

I did a test run and my 0-60 time was 7.01 seconds down from mid 8's before.

I lowered the wot shift from the (5400) that alot of other people recomend just because it seemed to take forever for the truck to shift and I just didn't feel that much difference. in fact it seemed that the power was starting to drop off a decent amount before it shifted. I'm gonna play with it somemore and see if I can get the truck to kinda stay in the powerband so to speak a lil more.

Hope this helps everyone.

And once again many thanks to Bill for being a standup guy and helping us all out!

Someone tell me when the firmware is stable. Im kinda sketchy on updating with BETA tunes.

Ive just noticed that at least 3 of us have "RX...." and 2 of us have "RXCM..." hex codes.
