Any idea how they do this? Thinking perhaps Edge has licensed their development toolset to these folks?

I checked the site and there is no info other than them just reselling the Edge. Diesel shop primarily, who have just begun tuning the gas 5.4l - they're in for a trip - lol.

I wish their site would elaborate on this...

Edge has told me about them. They sent me an e-mail saying I will need to send them info like Troyer. They can e-mail you the tunes im guessing.

Keep us updated on how long it takes and how you like it. I would of keep my edge till the xcal came in then sold the edge then! No power for 3 months is going to be brutle! hehehe

 

Its killing me right now. I figured it was going to take weeks to sell it. I was wrong it took about 8 hrs lol. I will miss the guages. My wife got in my truck yesterday and says ''Where the hell is the Edge" I dont even want to drive my truck any more. This Troyer tune better be good lol. I might look for a locked Edge just for the guages. Its 10 weeks lead time to get the new tunes.

 

Yeah I think I would of keep my EDGE for the gagues too. Of course selling it helps buy the new tuner but I know I would of kept it till the new tuner arrived for sure. But I think Im going to keep mine for the gauges regardless but anything can change. Im seriously thinking about trying the xcal too but will be a few months If id do. Keep us posted!

 

I cant find the post now but doesnt ThumperMX113 know someone that sells the xcal too and tunes them also like Mike? I "thought" I seen a post about it or thats how I read it. But again dont know much abou the xcal. I try not to get to invold or it will be more tempting to buy one!

 

Yea Bama is out of Florida, I thought about it but Im done with all the paper work with Troyer. I just have to wait. I would have kept the Edge and sold it when I got the X-cal2 but we just spent a butt load of cash around the house and the wife wants all my extra money (yea right).

Hey all,
I just got off the phone with DP and they said that the original engineer for Edge was working for them now and he would be in the office in a few mins. If you look thru the forums you will see his name mentioned in many places as well as his responses in this forum. His name is Bill.

It's funny, I called DP twice and got answering machines so I hung up like most would do. And within 1 min DP called me back on my cell phone. He said that what they are doing is changing the Edge into a DP tune system of there own and in order to do this you have to send the edge to them in GA.
It cost $75 to change it over and $45 for each custom tune after that which they can email you once youve done the $75 switch.
I mentioned my custom tune problems (that alot of people are having, not working at all) and he said that Bill said it's a corrupted file thingy.

Anyhow, thought this would be good info for this post as it mentions the DP thing.

thumper has a vmp tuned xcal 2. they are in florida. i to have a custom tuned xcal2 from vmp. i erased the troyer files on mine and had vmp send me tunes via email. i love the vmp tuning.

 

I'm only about 1 1/2 hour from them .might have to check them out
