I have never had any problems at all with my Edge, but I would like to see if anyone does a custom tune with their Edge through DP. I might have to look into it if the results are indeed a good one!

05supercrew If you dont mind me asking how much did the xcal2 cost with 3 custom tunes? I am debating on wheter or not to get one I just dont see how it can be that much better than the Edge. Also is VMP the same price as Troyer?

I don't get this. Edge has flaws in their programming which one of their lead engineers already admitted and now they're going to charge you more money to get a decent tune.. WOW. Business at it's finest. On a side note, I don't want anyone to say anything about my opinion and how I don't know what I'm talking about since I have a Xcal2. I used to have a Edge and now since I've got the Xcal2, the only thing I think it's good for is the gauges.

. . like others have said for me, I've got the Xcal2 with VMPTuning. They're located in DeBary, Florida. Also yes, I believe VMP is the same price as Troyer.

No no no, Edge isnt charging more for a better tune, DP said they will tune the Edge to there DP tunes. What might be confusing is that Edges old engineer is working for DP. (Which could be good or bad I guess huh. )

So from what they told me at DP is that when they are done with it and you boot it up in your truck it wont say "Evolution" anymore, it will say DP tunes (so ta speak) making the edge unit a DP unit with there programs installed.

I know so by the time you've bought an Edge at the old price and than have this garbage done you could of had a custom tuned Xcal2 with dyno time..

Two weeks but let me put it this way. It's a lot better to under promise and over deliver.

Talking

according to the websites vmp is 399.00 and troyer is 449.00 for the xcal2 with three custom tunes. then there is the wait. justin had my tunes within two weeks. to think that an edge is anywhere near a custom tune is just wrong. the edge is loaded for trucks straight accross the board. niot the personal truck of the owner. sure you can tinker with it to getit where you want it but is is a safe tune at best. there is no way in the world that it could be for that truck with thos mods as a custom tune is. only thing going for it is the readout. there areway more things that can be changed in a custom tune that is taylored to your specific application. yes there are tables in a custom tune that are changed in all tunes for all people.then they get to the certain tables that are for that specific application for your modsthat they know will work. especially since they are tuning your truck not thousands.

Agreed. But not on late-model gas F150's. Totally different beast.

Interesting - they are basically just using the Edge hardware as a delivery vehicle.

This will all hinge on the skill & experience of the lead programmer - as always. And if that is the same lead programmer that designed the Edge tunes - well you do the math.

And - testing, testing, testing - I hope they have access to a LOT of different F150's LOL!

What info are they requesting of the vehicle specs?

Does this sound like another canned tune to anyone?
