10$ performance chip!?

Ok, I'm sure someone has asked this before. And yes, I did do a "search" and I've found nothing. In that search I have read alot about the different tuners and will someday go with the Troyer.
But I have to ask about this part since I've been browsing on ebay...
Whats the deal? I just don't see how it will work. Even if it doesn't give the 20hp, would it help with the ETC? as in, let me have more responce from my pedal?
I have a 04 5.4 and if this did anything at all I wouldn't mind throwing it on untill I get a troyer.
At 10$ I suppose I could just order it and find out, but I'm hoping to not waste my time and $ since I'm sure someone here knows about this thing. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer. And again, I'm sorry if this is a repost, but I'm a newbie and after 15 pages of searching I'm just not finding the info I'm looking for..

That thing's garbage...I wouldn't even think about putting that thing near my 36 thousand dollar truck.

The old adage that you get what you pay for comes to mind here. If it seems too good to be true then it most likely is.I would not waste the shipping charge on it much less the ten dollars. I would be suprised if you received 10 cents worth of performance enhancement for the ten dollar charge.Read his feedback to see what the people who have bought it have to say. It is only a resistor and there is no way that that alone can increase the performance of the newer Ford trucks.

Thanks fellas. At first I thought it was a chip. Since that's how he's marketing it. But yeah, I don't see how a resistor could do anything. I can't wait to get a Troyer!..I've read nothing but great things about it!

I had sent a message to the seller about "how" it works. and this is the answer I got back..
Living in MN I don't think I'd want my truck to think it's 60 degrees all the time. Especially when it's -30 or something like that. I don't think that'd be good on the engine...and I definitly do not want to lose mpg's!! not at these prices!!hahah

quote from seller.
"ok here is the basics on how this works. You receive a resistor. each engine is tuned a certain way so you use an ohm reader to tell the optimal resistance at a certain temperature outside. i decided that i wanted to use a 32 degree temperature to. I then found the correct resistor that will tell the computer that it is atleast 60 degrees out at all times. so what this does is it bypasses the iat sensor and sends a new signal to the ECU. This will create a slightly richer fuel mixture and will advance the timing just slightly. This together creates the extra hp. By using this you will lose 1 to 2 mpg. i do send step by step installation instructions on how to install this that i created myself. also this is mainly used at car races but you can use this for a daily driver vehicle but as i said you will lose 1 to 2 mpg. if you have anymore questions i always here.

Thanks "

Yeah, I might have seen those. Had I searched for resistor and not performance chip. In which I read through fifteen of the first twenty pages, and at that point came to the conclusion that my answer should have came up already. But thanks for your help anyways Next time I'll try alternative key words.
