So i saw this cheap chip on ebay and was wondering if it was legit. I would really like to know what you guys gotta say about it. To me it looks like a product thats too good to be true.

Sorry forgot to mention that. It is said to give a vehicle 15 - 25 horsepower, and get better gas mileage. And is only 20 bucks

I will almost bet you that its a cheap .20 cent resistor that you tap into your MAF while tricking the computer that your air temperature is cooler, hence giving it more fuel. (I am not sure if its the MAF or what, but one of those sensors you tap in to)

Big waste of money if you ask me....

Way too good to be true. Yeah i also heard that to install it you have to cut wires and junk. Thats def. something i would never do myself without someone else there that knew exactly what they were doing.

That is a gimmick that is well known to be potentially dangerous - it tricks the PCM into thinking it's much colder outside than it really is, and thus forces the PCM to deliver more spark advance by changing the resistance value of the IAT sensor - a very dumb move.

Nobody who knows anything about properly modifying any computer-controlled vehicle would ever do that, so I'm glad you asked - if you use the SEARCH feature here, you will see that has been covered at least 1000 times here in the past, it's an old trick that people have been scamming with for years, and is not safe, nor its it even remotely a proper method of getting the PCM (your powertrain's computer) to deliver more power.

There is no substitute for proper performance tuning, and that is the way to go about trying to get more power from the PCM.

So in short - steer clear of any such devices.

If you'd like to get proper tuning and nice performance gains, please feel free to give us a call & we'll be happy to go over that with you, so you'll have a good idea of what is possible by doing things correctly & safely.

Good luck!
